I'm not sure what is included, but how much is the kit? Is it worth buying over the rotary aviation or mazdatrix o-ring kit? Are you sure it isnt an external gasket kit?

I got the kit b4 through advance auto parts. They only make a 12A kit, includes water o-rings and oil o-rings and all other gaskets for 12A. Although back when i had my 12A, i had no problems with this kit.

Recently i bought another one just to slap together my 13B in my 3rd gen, i only used the water o-rings, and for the oil control o-rings i used atkins. So far no problems ~5000 miles on street port with T04R.

Kit runs ~$115, i use to work at AAP and got it for ~$85 thats why i went with it.

IMO - i like the the water o-rings they fit alot easier than the rounded teflon, but might not last as long.

Good luck

So it appears that it does have ALL gaskets, o-rings, and seals needed for rebuild. So all needed in addition to this kit would be apex seals and springs, corner seals and springs, side seals and springs, and bearings.

Its the basic kit, what are they charging ya? I have the stock OEM ones for 115.00 + shipping on ebay, and then a rotor kit for 440.00 would be your basic engine rebuild..

I know you guys would probably like to say your oil seals are the best but could you give me an honest answer to how they compare to Mazda OEM oil seals? Better or same? Also what all is included in the rotor kit? Thanks.

The viton oil seals can handle more abuse. I had our son purposely not change the oil and constantly run it 1.5 - 2 quarts low, never something that we advise doing. He did this for 2 years and they specked out as new you couldnt tell the differance when set side by side with new ones. after about 10,000 mile the silicone ones (green) Mazda ones will start showing some color changes, the yellow ones (real old style) would start changing shape...

Heres the link to the rotor kit... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=8012569671

Thanks for the fast response. Looks like when rebuild time comes around I think I will be going with an atkins set. Oh yeah... And by "minor" overhaul you mean not replacing rotors or housings... Correct?

ya, but this is a basic set, some ppl like to change the side seals and oil ring springs too but thats a choice when you do the rebuild, I did notice that you had the turrintine video.. Make sure even if you dont get parts thru me that you at least replace all of the springs as in his older versions suggest re shaping the springs and that really isnt a good idea.... You can chat with me on AIM if you like... Quiltin kaffy
