What does EGT's have to do with engine paint?

Are you planning to paint the exhaust?

Think about this...
Coolant (and oil) are circulating inside the engine.
Anything above 250F will boil coolant.
Anything above 300F will fry your oil.
In fact, if you exceed these temps will your engine, you will fry your engine.

500F engine paint is fine as long as you stay away from the exhaust pieces.

Yes, EGT's will exceed 1600F intermittently, but the exhaust pipes will not hit temps that high.

Keep the engine paint away from the exhaust, and you should be fine.
