Is the carb spacer required?
Hello, I'm completely new to the rotary/first gen scene and I bought my car last Saturday lol. It came with a Holley 465 kit and I decided to swap back to stock because it just doesn't run right and I want a good baseline. The car came with an early and a late model Nikki, but nothing else. I've got my hands on an intake and I was wondering can I run the (stripped) Nikki with no spacer?
Welcome to the forum. You may want to make a thread in the 1st gen section where it get more focused attention.
You need the spacer to make it run right. Also, the space needs to match the throttle body. Not clear you have just the carb or the carb and throttle body. Post some pics.

I don't think the carb will even fit on the manifold without it. I have a couple kicking around if you can't source one. It is more than a spacer, it's a vacuum manifold and also a phenolic heat shield to divert exhaust heat from the carburetor bowls.
If you're interested in selling the Holley setup, I've been low key looking for one. I can respect that you'd want to keep it at least until you get everything else squared away.
