i have a 1990 gxl and i can’t get spark, plugs seem ok. it was running and then i replaced the alternator and it doesn't want to start. i made sure the battery was charged but still nada, i’m only 18 so it might be something obvious but if anyone has any ideas that would be amazing.

i forgot to check fuses in the engine bay, replaced two and now it works

 

You probably screwed something up during the alternator install. Check the connections again. Check the EGI and starter relays as well in case you forgot to detach the battery or friend them when you reconnected wiring.
