The tachometer in a 1993 RX7 R1 that i am looking at does not work. Any problems with these in the past? any connections i should look at?

bump/ more of a explination. When you start the car, the tach is all over place, and it will then stay all the way at 9 and then bounce some more and then stick around 3. The engine just stays at idle the whole time though. WHAT IS THIS?

i know nothing about 3rd gens, but on first gens, the tach runs off the trailing ignitor and thats usually the cause of the tach not working at all.

Does not work at in "does not move at all" or "it reading higher/lower than it should" or "it just moves all over the place"?
