Blue smoke cold start

Quick question from a rotary rookie.... My 85 GSL with 19,000kms(12,000 miles) puffs blue & grey smoke only on cold starts. After aprx 2 mins it looks and smells normal.
Is this normal???
Thanks

welcome to the board.

speaking relatively ..., yes.

rotaries are designed to burn some oil, but aside from that, i'm thinking after 35 years, the engine may just need to be driven regularly.

aside from the momentary smoking, is everything else okay with it?
