I'm planning on putting my 1985 12A into a beetle, but which air hoses can i remove and plug?

My main concern are the two hoses on/next to the oil filler. Can I cap them off, or do they need to be vented?

I'll be using twin SU HIF44 carbs (simply because I have them!!) and will be junking all the emissions stuff obviously.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I assume it's the one on the oil filler neck that I cap?

but wouldn't that give a pressurised oil system? (I'm not using the oil metering system on the OE carb anymore)

Wouldn't it be better to send it to a catch tank?

But thanks for the info - at least I know that they CAN be sorted with!!

the ones on the filler tube arent for the OMP anyways
they are for the pcv valve

OMP?
pcv?

I'm hoping to remove the oil metering system and any other contaminant to the inlet.

I know that a sealed oil system is bad for the engine, and I'm guessing that the oil metering system (is that the OMP?) simply assists the crankcase breather to relieve pressure. But if I send the crankcase breather to a vented catch-can, could I then seal off the oil metering system and the oil-fill vac tube?

I'm guessing that the oil-filler neck and the crankcase vac tubes are connected internally?

Please correct me - I'm purely guessing!!

the omp is just to inject oil into the combustion chamber
it has nothing to do with ventilation
you have to have to hooked up, or you will have to pre-mix 2 stroke oil.

the 2 holes on and next to the oil filler tubes are the ventilation

I know that now (search button). A few days of searching around, and I now know what it does, how it does it, and why it's needed.

Thanks though
