Around 5000 RPM's

Around 5000 RPMs my car seems to dorp in acceleration, like its lagging, and sometimes when I get up around 5000 RPMs it feels like it completely loses power for a second, then comes back and is fine. Can someone please help? I have a 90 GTUs.

Could be fuel filter, fuel pump or ?? If power comes back and stays it becomes more of a puzzle. If you are busy shifting quickly after the power comes back it will be hard to tell. I'd change the fuel filter first because they're cheap. Any modifications we should know about?

Well no, none yet, but you all think it could possibly be the fuel filter... hmm... ok. Well I work for a carparts store : ), So I'll be sure to pick one up tomorrow. P.S. Smoked a 95 Civic Hatch with a B16 today on the interstate, i stopped around 135...

Sounds like more of a electrical problem, from my readings the sudden loss of power is the ecu going into limp mode for a split second. Cause could be coils, tps......im sure the list goes on, but thats just my 2 cents. Good luck!

Check your spark plugs, they tend to do this.
