ALS apex seals

Does anyone have experience with als apex seals? They say they are unbreakable but I dont belive in that. If/when they brake, do they damage the engine? How do they handle heat, etc?

Has anyone got a long term-ish report on these seals? Even just a tear down report after 20-30K miles? Which would give a pretty good indication on how these seals would last in the long term.

I'm leaning towards using these for my next 20B motor...

THERE IN MY Car THE rotor cracked but the car still starts & runs. apex seal still in tact!

BTW we took the apex seal and bend it to make a v shape, bend it back, then took it and put it into a car and start it!

one of the best things ever to happen to my car

oh and they have been in the car since march of last year. and i run the car hard every week at the races.

I hope you're exaggerating! I don't see how you could possibly bend metal then bend it back perfectly without it stretching or even marring the surfaces...

I have heard a lot of high HP cars run them for long periods of time with no problems coming from the seals. I will be using them in my rebuild after seeing 900hp 20b pickup run em for a year.

Allen, you reused the SAME seals that were in the motor that cracked the plate?
as the same 6 seals that withstood the detonation? or a new set of the same brand of seals?

THE same seals. That motor cracked the rear plate, dented both rotors, killed the side seals, killed the corner seals, and killed the bearings. I replaces the apex seal springs and used the same set of seals over again. They were straight as an arrow!

its a cool mist kit, spraying 100% denatured alcohol(with some 2 stroke oil for the pump)... I just spray it to prevent detonations, the car is not tuned for more power out of it. i got traumatized when i bought a TII with "10K" that didn't even last me a month... i even swapped an sr20 into that FC... I got an FD now with 310whp on the stock non-seq twins, love the 13b so much i try to keep it running. going to street port, and rebuild on this seals before i blow and have to pay even more.

The seals are back ordered for about 3 more weeks. I have 6-7 sets coming from Edgar when they are ready. So far, nothing but great things to say about these seals.
