94 FD surging while driving
Hi,
So over all the car is running pretty good. Idles fine, cruises down the highway or freeway fine. The issue occurs when I’m in town at lower speeds and rpms. For instance it’s most noticeable when I’m in 3rd gear in town trying to keep it steady at 35 in the 35 zone running about 2400 rpm after about a minute or less of trying to maintain that speed and RPM the car will start to surge. I really just want to get the car running as good as I can and make sure I’m not doing it any damage. The car is completely stock other then me pulling the precat off and putting my downpipe back on to try and get some of that heat away from the turbos. As far as the troubleshooting guide in the manual it’s pointing me at injectors but I can’t afford to mess with them atm. Anyone have any ideas? I also might try to mess with my TPS again as it was not doing it as bad when it was running a little rich and failing smog. When I adjusted the TPS to get it to pass smog and clean up the extra little richness that was failing her it started doing the surging worse. Any help, ideas or advice are very welcome.

i've been playing with the TPS on mine as part of getting it to idle better, and it has a much bigger impact on drivability than i would like! so i would give that a try.
i've also noticed that a safety pin works great to probe the ECU pins, you can put the pin into the ecu connector, and then the safety part will hold the voltmeter probe.
