84' RX-7 problem
Good morning and thanks for inviting me in! I have a 1984 RX-7 that I am having problems with. After starting the car and driving a short distance, all of the lights on the dash come on and car shuts down and cannot re-start. This has now happened many times and am unable to figure it out. If I wait a bit sometimes the car will start again, but obviously now I cannot drive it. Looking for hints or suggestions? Thanks
from the photos in your thread in the New Member Tech forum, it would appear your car is a 12A car. are you sure about the fuel injection? 12As are carb'd from the factory, so if you're dealing with some kind of aftermarket fuel injection, it is very helpful for others to know in order to help you.

also, as an FYI (or gentle, respectful reminder), when you post a thread, try to wait a day or two before posting the same topic in another forum. thanks.

You are correct, It is a 12A with carburetor. Sorry about the mis information. It seems to shut down when its hot out as just went to drive it and after a few blocks quit. Had to wait about 10mins for it to start again. Today is 78* out and now notice this doesn't happen when it is colder out.
Also sorry about the other thread. Am new to the site and first posted in the incorrect area 🤦

have you tuned it up yet? you need to start the process of elimination to hone in on what your issue actually is. at this point it's just a guessing game.
no worries about the cross-post.
there's not really a right or wrong forum for posting what you posted. you were totally correct for posting in New Member Tech (or here, or the Gen 1 forum). generally speaking, i would encourage new members to use the New Member forums to get their bearings, and then branch out as they see fit. the reasoning behind that is the New Member forums were created to keep newer members from being flamed (chided, cursed out, insulted, etc.) for their posts or mistakes. you're totally fine if you post in other forums though - just not all at the same time.
