13b power capabilitys.

I did a light search, but im at a loss as to how mcuh power the 13b or 13bt can hold on stock internals. I am keeping in mind that there are very few things that can go wrong as far as the hardware, im concerned about the seals.

So what blows at what power/torque level?

i'm not sure at wich level the engine need modifacation but i'm pretty sure the stock seal will hold alot as long as the engine is tuned and doesn't detonate, detonation kill apex seals

The first limitations are going to be externals. Fuel, exhaust, intake, ecu......Another factor is if its an s5,or an s4. Say you where to keep all stock internals and the skys the limit on the externals, I would say 350hp on an s4 and 450hp on a s5. Given a perfect tune. Ported 400-500. Then your risk the motor twisting itself to pieces.

100hp spread between series? that seems pretty big but then again all i know is my basically stock s4/s5 hybrid.

here's what i've heard for n/a's:

you're not going to break 200 without a bridge port on a stock ecu, 250+ is j-port and over 300 you need peripheral ports. that's just general stuff i've pickeed up from experienced posters and off the top of my head so no one come down on me too hard.

stock port n/a is probably going to be capable of 150-160 rwhp depending on whether it's an s4 or s5

Kahren has put that theory to rest. A stock port S5 can achieve over 200rwhp..

Oh and, as far as power limits, you could theoretically get over 1000rwhp. I just wouldn't recommend pushing that much boost, or else plan on rebuilding a LOT.

Street-wise, 450-600 is very possible.

A stock port T2 can get something like 400+rwhp..theres one on here.

FD Rotor housings are said to be the strongest...one of the guys from T&R told me that, and apparently they built a motor pushing upwards of 40+ PSI...

That's A LOT of boost, especially in a rotary.

i know its not a 13b but there is a 20b in a drag 3rd gen i saw in a magazide the guy was still running stock internals as he stated i don't know if that mean stock apex seals but he was in either 6 or 7 second 1/4 miles so thats way more power than any street car needs. But i'd say you'll probably never have to worry about the limit of the motor you'll probably run into a number of problem before you got anywhere near hurting the motor from too much power

Thats what i had figured.

i was just asking the question assuming that everything has been tuned, fuel and so fourthare good and you have a large FI set up.

Like i said, im coming from the land of pistons, where the first thing to look out for are your internals.

So basicaly, i have nothing to worry about inside the motor, as long as im properly tuned, i just have to start worrying about the external factors.. drive train, mounts, and other twistable items..

Whats the transmission willing to hold before pop goes the weasle?

As far as i've read, the rear dif will hold a substantial amount of power.. so ill assume the drive shaft will play right along with it.
