whats a savanna rx-7???? whats the diff. the just a rx-7 turbo 2 or anyother rx-7's??

 

Japanese run. In Japan, as I have had it explained to me, the car is called the Savanna RX-7, not the Mazda RX-7. And the 3rd gen is called the Efini RX-7. Kinda like how Nissan has Infiniti, and Toyota has Lexus over here.

 

The Savanna's were the early first-gens out of Japan, Singapore (probably other places too).

They were what we call the Series 1 - 1979 to 1980.

Savannah and Efini's are speicial editions, not different' company names.

 

No, Savanna is just a model name, they were still all called Mazda's. It's been used on both 1st and 2nd Gen RX-7's. Mazda has used Efini (FD RX-7) and Eunos (Cosmo) in the way you describe above.

Cool. Like I said, this just how it was explained to me. I have only seen Japanese Savanna's. GT2 says Savanna is the SA, so I guess for once, Sony was right!!!

My screen saver is a tII with savana badging.. I also have a first gen model kit that says "savanna RX-7"
The large underpowered lemon in my driveway is also a savanna, except its the GM version(van)...Max

No, two different beasts. The Infini models were lighter, more powerful, limited edition cars; the uber-FC!

 

I though savanna referred to the network of dealers who sold them.

Don't forget the "cabriolet" network as well
