Angry injectors injectors injectors!!!!!

So, Ive heard all the business about running a 10 ohm resistor inline with the low impedence injectors on my 88 TII, which didnt work. My question is, since obviously they are useless to me, where (if at all) can i get HIGH impedence injectors. thanks

What size?&nbsp It is VERY hard to find high-impedence fuel injectors over 50# (about 550cc) ratings...

This is the reason why you see a lot of low-impedence fuel injectors with very high flow ratings.

what is the difference between low and high impedence injectors and what effect do they have?

The reason why the larger capacity fuel injectors are all low-impedence is because they need the superior peak and hold high current of the low-impedence design to move the larger mass "valve" inside the fuel injector itself.&nbsp With the larger currents, the control of the heavier solenoid valve is a lot more precise and controllable.

Realistically, there is very little difference between the high-impedence versus low-impedence fuel injectors.&nbsp The design of the windings (of the solenoid control coil) dictates impedence.&nbsp You really won't feel any performance difference between the two designs.

You just need to make sure the impedence is matched to your FC, as Mazda changed the fuel injector control in mid-1987.&nbsp Running the wrong impedence fuel injectors can potentially blow your stock ECU up due to the improper current draw.

Ted, how do we know which ones we have? You have my VIN, which do I have? Thanks.

Look under your AFM for a resistor pack. That= low impedance. Or, look at the injector connections. Low impedance ones have the tab in the center, the high impedance ones are offset.

Look at the fuel injector section about 80% down the page.
The split is at #7601.

Your VIN ending is 8608, E6KT2?&nbsp That makes you high-impedence.

The best way is to send them to RC for a customize job. It cost ~$175 but then you get exactly what you want w/o cutting the harness (depending on your year) or running resistors that can blow due to the high heat. I tried the resistor method already. They blew on me twice...not good. I then send then to RC and get 650 pri and 850 sec. Yeah, it costs more (maybe you only need the sec), but the tow truck cost me $65 per failure and a few hours of waiting time.

Ok is that "7601" the last 4 of the vin?

so if i have a pre 87.5 and i put in low impedence injectors i may have screwed my ecu. and that could be why the secondaries are making a buzzing sound when the key is on

yes everything below 87.5 is LOW INDEPENDENCE.

87.5 and up is HIGH INDEPENDENCE

6/86 is a really early 87.

FWIW I ganked a resistor pack off an 86 NA and it feeds my 720s with power. It works good now.

Man oh man. I have gotten like so many different answers to this. I guess I will have to look and see what injectors I have.

Just look under your airbox, on the fenderwell. Look for a resistor pack. It is about 3''x1.5'' with 5 wires going to it. If you have it (which I'm sure you will), you have low impedance.

I took a pic of it, but it didn't come out too well. I darkened it the best I could. Yours obviously wont have the ghetto wiring job.

Thanks alot. So which are harder to get, high or low impedence injectors?
