What can be done to make an RX ricer.

I see so many RXs round with wide bodies, 747 wings, go fast stripes, weighed down by decals, with fat tyres on mega wheels, that sometimes I am glad no one can recognise them as a gen !.

Whats your list of things that can de done to a RX-7 to make them real ricer and slower than a 20 year old Honda Civic?

poorly installed widebody
18" wheels revealing a GS rear end with rusty drums
clear tail lights
ten layers or poorly done spray paint covered in annoying stickers
beehive water to oil oil cooler
stuck clutch fan that sounds like a giant tornado all the time
those are the first things that come to mind, oh yes excessive exposed bondo is a must too.

Put on big aluminum spoiler = Rice, doesn't matter to me what car it's on, they don't look good.

Wide body kit on street car = Rice, unless you have a turbo or bridgeport to make huge tires necessary.

Decals or stripes look very bad, but I wouldn't consider it rice if it's just a couple stickers or a small clean stripe.

There are many other things I would consider rice, but I don't feel like typing out a huge list right now, maybe I'll post more later.

i think the definition of rice should be when you try to look/sound faster than you are

$15 turbo muffler. Gives you that "nice" fart-cannon blaaaaaaat.

I was pulling from a stop and a fart-cannon equipped Eclipse thought I was racing.... my friend riding shotgun said he couldn't figure what was worse, the Eclipse or the Pacesetter exhaust on my car. Hey at least it has *tone*.

Hey now, don't you be knockin' the 4-doors.... a 4 door chassis is inherently stiffer due to the smaller body openings, and IMO they generally look better because you have shorter doors and no gap between the door edge and the rear wheelwell...

The beehive is the oil cooler under the oil filter onFBs but not SAs.

Gregs- the 101 hp was the dutuned engine sold in the USA. In Europe and Australia the engines had bigger ports giving about 115hp, the reason was emission standards were not so much of a problem.

I would say hes just about got it,BUT I wouldnt say a beehive cooler is rice,Not any more rice than a S model..

Front mount coolers are good, cause it gets air blown on it easier,ONLY if the car has long runs,

You can get by with a bee hive cooler for drag cause you have short runs and time to cool down.

..............
82 transam send me a front mounted cooler so I dont be rice any more

My favorite rice "add-on" are the hub caps that are supposed to look like drilled and slotted rotors. Now THAT is rice!

Stuff a dummy intercooler up front, add whistle tips to the exhaust, mirror tint on the windows, a big "powered by..." decal on the windshield, anything written in japanese as an emblem, a type R badge, lower the car until it hits the reflectors in the street, lean the seat way back and peak over the very tip of the steering wheel with right arm fully extended while the left is on the window sill, chrome gas cap door, 15.5 gallon beer keg for a muffler (maybe larger for effect), aftermarket 18" rims on the back with black 14" or 15" steel rims on the front, adjust wheel camber way inward to allow for the rims that you only wish could fit properly, a nitrous purge kit (no nitrous), diamond plate metal floor mats, paint your dash white with spray paint, add a 10000 rpm tach on the top of the dash to supplement your existing one, gauge pods for gauges that have no purpose, a shift light (the car is stock makes no sense), neon windshield washer fluid sprayers, altezza tail lights, Venom intake manifold that only makes more power than the stock one about the time fuel cut off hits, I could go on and on and on.............
