Denver FD Club

OK, here's the deal.

Been talking with sszablya and came to the conclusion that Denver needs an FD club. My wife is tired of hearing about my car, so I need a group of people with this similar interest.

Some ideas of what the club should be are:

- get together and talk about our cars
- help eachother tune/troubleshoot
- get group dyno discounts
- get group track discounts
- group parts installation
- machine custom parts (anyone have access to a shop?)
- other suggestions???

Post here if you are interested. We can make this whatever we want it to be.

Did I mention my wife is tired of hearing about my car?

Whos car is that gold one? Its pretty nice looking. Steve, all you FD guys, include the FCs and FBs, we should have a general RX-7 club.

I thought that was previously tried?? IMRX7??

Anyhow, the point of an all FD club is because the FD's, while being fundamentally similar to FC's and FB's, is a different machine altogether. While I'm not entirely enthusiastic about an FD/FC/FB club (sorry guys), I do think that an FD only club would be smaller and easier to manage, although less likely to propagate the spirit of the RX7. Maybe it could be an FD/Open club, where the primary support goes to the FD and FD's systems, especially concerning potential online resources (website); but FC's and FB's are eligible to become members? I mean, I don't know - I'd hate to discriminate against fellow RX7'ers.

I guess I'm just trying to say that I'm interested in creating a technical support group/club so we can share the collective knowledge of FD's. Whatever else happens beyond that should be a function of forthcoming interest. The interest seems to stand thus far for FD's.

Feedback?

OK, the way I see it, so far we have:

sszablya
Dr Wankel
Sweet7
mmonaco
johnchabin (me)

Shoot, just having 5 FDs in one place at one time is enough to make me want to do this. I think we should all get together and talk about what we want the club to be, based on the suggestions posted above.

I am near I-25 and Arapahoe. From what I've heard, downtown might be a central location.

I have a 93 black base with 64K miles.

We have tried similar things like this before with limited success but I'm definately down to try it again. I'm stealing Nic's idea here but picking one common spot and meeting there on a regular basis is the way to go IMHO. Last time we met up at an Old C's in Westy, there was only 6-7 of us that showed up and only 3 of us brought our RX-7's but it was still a damn good time, oh and the waitress was really hot too so that helped But anyway lets try to get a tiem set up and go form there.

I agree with Dr. Wankel. Let's just run with this and see what comes up..

Isn't the IMRX7 club basically dead?
The website never changed, and it's no longer even registered.

You want proof it's dead?

I would suggest somewhere off I-25. Maybe up around 6th Avenue to keep it central. The Wynkoop downtown has a parking lot across the street and an outdoor patio (from which we can watch our cars - I know, paranoid). Problem is, I'm not sure if parking is free on Saturday/Sunday afternoon. I'd rather not pay to park.

Saturday or Sunday afternoons will normally work best for me.

We should get together to figure out what we want the club to be. If nothing comes of it, at least we get to see other FDs in the area and maybe have a beer.

TainoIndian: I am in Pueblo every other Monday working at the Steel Mill.

John, sounds good. Let's set a date, and keep in mind, it's winter now... my baby is a garage baby .

The sooner, the better, for me at least.

So I think it's:

sszablya
Dr Wankel
mmonaco
TainoIndian (maybe?)
johnchabin (me)

Since the weather outlook for the weekend doesn't look too great, perhaps we should continue this post for one more week and shoot for the following weekend. This Sunday afternoon doesn't sound too bad, though.

We can also post in the other forum in case they don't look here...
