Wacky, don't forget to capitalize the beginning of all your sentences when coming back and making a comment on my grammar.

Also the proper end punctuation too.

Went to start it after it being flooded over night, let it run with the fuel pump unplugged, when it started to catch I plugged it in and bam it started...left a smoke screen so big that I couldnt see my back door maybe 20 feet behind me.

Don't forget to shutoff the switch when you park it for the night so there is no fuel left to go thru the injectors. This means while it is still running shut the switch off and let it die.
If you dont follow this then you are going to be doing a rebuild real soon after you wash the apex seals out to sea.

Well, the FPR didnt do anything for me. Next thing Im throwing money at is the injectors. When I had the fuel rail off I cleaned the injectors up really good, they didnt look like they were in bad shape, but thats my next guess for whats wrong.

Oh, and when I had the fuel rail off I noticed that the pulsation dampner rattled. Is it supposed to do this? I suppose Ill just order one of those along with the injectors.

It seems to be working for me, it still floods like a **** on start up but not until I plug in the connector and out comes the rich smoke! It clears up real fast though, I think once I fix my injectors from hanging, letting fuel drop down, whatever, it'll be a lot better.

Well, It looks like I might have to put in a fuel pump cut off switch so that I can get to work on monday. I hope that I can at least get the car started that way.

Im going to order new injectors right now, maybe if Im lucky they will have them in stock (<- yeah, right )

Well, the search for injectors went ok I guess. I found them at pep boys for $220 a pice. They will take five days to come in.

I checked every auto parts store around here and they were cheapest at pep boys. NAPA had them for $332 a pice and the dealership had them for $448 a pice. Before I go order these, is there some place that they are avalible online for cheaper than $220 a pice?

I was thinking about it and I probably could have put a carburator on this thing for how much I will have spent ($185 for the FPR and $440 for injectors). I just keep telling myself that the fuel injection is better...

You PAID $185 FOR YOUR FPR? Where the hell did you buy that from? I purchased mine from rockauto.com for 73.76 with my 5% discount. Your talking about your FPR on your fuel rail?

I bought the FPR from mazda (mistake).

Anyone know where I can get a set of injectors for cheaper than $220 a pice? My bill came to over $500 after taxes!

Advanced auto said they didnt even have a listing for injectors for an 84 rx7. Same with autozone and carquest. Napa, Pep Boys and Mazda all had them, but pep boys was the cheapest.

Tech_Greek what are these python injectors you are talking about? Are they Rx-7 specific, or do I have to ask for "Python injectors"?

Here you go:

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductL...jector&ptset=A

$56.99 + $12 core. The other option is to send yours off to RC engineering to be rebuilt/cleaned/flow tested.

That was my question, I wouldn't imagine they would be bad. I'd send mine off to RC if it were me but I think they said they cant fix them if they leak down or something and that's what I think we have.

Well I just tried to order those and the website told me they couldnt complete my order and that I needed to call them. Im calling them first thing tomorrow to find out what the hell is going on.

I cancled my order with pep boys so that I would have money to order the ones from parts america.

I am getting very frustrated with trying to get these injectors. WTF is so difficult? The ******* parts are out there, but nobody wants to sell them to me! (for a reasonable price)

A carburator is starting to sound better and better every day...

At what point did it tell you to call? When I searched for them, I had to put in my zip. Maybe that is causing a problem? Just go to the main site, search for "fuel injectors", set car year, make, model, and try again. I went though most of the order steps and it didn't give me a problem. I think someone else on here has the Python injectors, I can't remember who offhand. Maybe search to see where they got theirs/how they work.

They told me to call after I finished the order process. I did call and for some reason my billing address was somewhere in pensylvania.

Anyway, I got the injectors in yesterday. The car dosent flood the instant I crank it over anymore, but it still wont start. I charged the battery overnight, I am going to see if it starts now. [fingers crossed]

"Python" brand injectors are REBUILDS. Know what you're buying - you are getting what you're paying for...

My injector issues about 2 years ago were actually due to cracked fuel injector tops whereby the fuel would squirt out and cause a nasty gasoline odor inside the car with the external venting turn on (non-recirc). I removed the UIM to find the fuel lines needed to be replaced, the injectors were all wet from fuel, and I sent them off to a local speed shop to be rebuilt, pressure tested, flow-balanced, and cleaned. (I also sent along 3 spares that I had accumulated over time).

What came back was 2 injectors that were within 5% flow of each other, 1 that was slightly out of spec, and 2 others that were useless. The broken bodies and tops couldn't be fixed and some wouldn't even flow a good pattern or volume. Those got kept for 'cores'. Well, as it turned out, I got another leak shortly thereafter and took the bad 'cores' down to BAP to buy new injectors. They listed "Python" brand as rebuilds, and I tried those.

Python #1 was missing the pintle, Python #2 was missing the top filter screen. Poor quality, and I ended up reinstalling the other 'good' factory injector that came back from the speedshop.

The Pythons are sitting on my workbench because they're used and BAP won't take them back. I guess they're cores from now on.

If it were me again, and I wanted to avoid having to remove/install the UIM about 15 times; I'd pay the extra money for Mazda Factory injectors, or Borg-Warner, or any other reputable manufacturer...

HTH,

(PS- I rather enjoyed the purse fight here earlier!)
