Lightbulb Featured Item of the Month!

Being the JDM Junkie that I am, every now and then I come across something so rare and so nice that I just HAVE to bring it over from JDM Land, and offer it to the distinguished buyer here in the US. And as time progresses, I'll update this thread with a new item every month or so (depending on when they pop up). I am confident you'll find it worth your while to check back here often!

So without futher ado, here are our current featured items of the month!

1) ARC Super Titan Exhaust

ARC is widely recognized in Japan as one of the leaders of induction and exhaust technology. They are most famous for their exotic titanium exhausts, diffusers, and induction systems. Here we have one of their most elusive (and long since discontinued) ARC "Super Titan Silencer" exhausts for the FD3S (70mm/89mm TIP), still 100% BRAND NEW!!! This super rare exhaust is manufactured in FULL TITANIUM, resulting in an exhaust weighing in at a mere 12.1 lbs (5.5 kg), which is said to be one of the lightest street/track exhausts available on the market.

This exhaust retailed for over $3,000 new from ARC, not including shipping & handling from Japan to the US. You get the SAME exhaust (now discontinued, so EXTREMELY hard to find), already in the US, boxed up and ready to ship! DO NOT miss out on this opportunity, as it will NOT present itself again. Indeed, this exhaust is the last of it's kind in the FD extreme performance realm.

Price: $3,000 SHIPPED within the Continental US, fully insured.

2) AutoExe Carbon Fiber True Cold Air Ram Air Intake

AutoExe has long since been known for their extremely high quality and performance-oriented functional parts for the FD3S. Here is one of the legendary carbon fiber cold air Ram Air intake boxes, which utilizes air entering through the front nose of the car through a highly efficient air filter, while effectively isolating & insulating the intake from the surrounding engine bay heat through the use of a weight-saving carbon fiber enclosure.

This rare intake retails for over $850 in Japan new from AutoExe, not including shipping & handling from Japan to the US. You get the SAME intake LIGHTLY USED, in EXCELLENT condition, already in the US, boxed up and ready to ship, for a FRACTION of the price!

Price: $600 SHIPPED within the Continental US, fully insured.

3) AutoExe Custom-Made FD3S-Specific Seats!

AutoExe has long since been known not only for their extremely high quality and performance-oriented functional parts for the FD3S, but also for their completely custom, masterfully crafted interior parts! And here up for sale is an INCREDIBLY rare jem! FD-specific AutoExe Custom-made seats! Made of high quality leather hides with a base black and AutoExe’s signature red, these seats are guaranteed to make a statement about the quality and rarity of the parts you choose to equip your FD with – and a bold statement at that! And since these are FD-specific, you don’t have to worry about the hassles of fitment and custom-mounting seatbelt fasteners! In fact, these seats come with FD rails, ready to bolt-on, and feature racing harness cutouts, so they can be used at the track as well!

Price: $2225 SHIPPED within the Continental US, fully insured.

4) Mazdaspeed Performance Adjustable Coilovers

A set of ride height adjustable suspension coilovers by the best in Mazda performance, Mazdaspeed. Not as stiff as HKS or Apexi coilovers, but not as soft as the R model suspension; these coilovers are a perfect compromise for street and track use. The shocks are four way adjustable, and are ride height adjustable as well. Height can be lowered 25mm lower than stock, and raised 10mm higher than stock ride height.

"I've got the Mazdaspeed Coilovers so I'll tell you what I know about them.

Spring rates are variable and are listed as:
- Front Primary - 6.63 Kgf/mm or 65 N/mm or (374 lb/in)*
- Front Secondary - 7.3 Kgf/mm or 71.6 N/mm or (412 lb/in)*

- Rear Primary- 4.83 Kgf/mm or 47.3 N/mm or (272 lb/in)*
- Rear Secondary - 5.1 Kgf/mm or 50 N/mm or (287 lb/in)*

First off the ride quality is much much better than the stock touring shocks. Stock touring was way underdamped on rebound but was still harsh when hitting sharp bumps.

Mazdaspeeds have much better dampening and are are only minimally harsher on sharp bumps. Elevation changes that would unsettle the stock touring shocks are soaked up easily by the Mazdaspeeds. This is especially appreciated at high speeds where the car now feels very well planted.

All settings except 4 (the Max) are too soft on both compression and rebound. I'm running all 4 corners at setting 4 and the ride and handling are great. Setting 3 is ok on the back if you want to improve straight line launches and dial out some oversteer.

Rear ride height adjustability is very generous.

Front ride height adjustability is a bit on the low side.

I have the front shocks set at their max ride height to avoid tire rub in hard corners. I have zero rub with 235-40-17's on front. An upgraded sway bar may be required to avoid rubbing in hard corners if you are running taller tires. Also, setting 4 is required on the front to avoid excessive wheel travel and avoid rubbing.

Upper mounts are a high stiffness rubber which helps with ride quality as opposed to pillow ball mounts.

I think this is a great setup since it performs really well and actually improves the ride quailty of the car. There are no negatives.

Some might say the spring rates are too low but anything higher would have to sacrafice some ride quality compared to this setup.

If I wanted a better setup than this I would go double adjustable, which we all know is way more $$.

Mabye someday."

These coilovers are in LIGHTLY USED, in EXCELLENT condition, IN STOCK, ready to ship!

Price: $1350 SHIPPED within the Continental US, fully insured.

5) HKS FC3S Titanium Racing Muffler Exhaust

Old description can be found here: http://web.archive.org/web/200412070...re.asp?id=1399

This exhaust has LONG SINCE been DISCONTINUED. It is Part # 3108-RZ001. The exhaust is USED, and as such has very minor imperfections typical of a lightly used part, but is in overall EXCELLENT condition. You will need a new exhaust gasket when installing this exhaust.

The main pipe is high-luster polished SUS304 stainless steel piping, 102 mm (4.0157"). The muffler assembly is Titanium, 170mm (6.692"), with 115 mm (4.527") piping, and 120 mm (4.724") tip at it's largest diameter. The exhaust was developed to support 735.5kW (1000 PS), while weighing 40% less than using regular piping + the HKS High Power Exhaust.

The exhaust is LOUD. Ie, if you don't NEED this exhaust (performance/powerwise), you probably don't want it. Moreover, because the exhaust diameter is large, I would NOT recommend using it on an FC that has been lowered considerably. EXHAUST IS FOR OFF-ROAD USE ONLY.

Retail price at that time was $1520 new.

Price: $900 SHIPPED within the Continental US, fully insured.
