what about counterweights ? on that page it said there were two counterweights , one on the back of the engine and one on the prop mount, how would that work on a twin rotor ?

Wow, cool... The more rotors you have the less counterwheight you need. I think...

Seen that one as well.. look at the gearing!

Maybe watercooling?
If new centerplates are made why not make waterchannels in them and let the rotorhousing stay aircold?

hmm.. maybe to big differens in temp for it..

<Hijack> Hey Magnus, have you got your exhaust yet ? I'll be very interested to see what you think of it as its on my list of things to do before the summer

(was going to get WGT High flow system but their supplier 'Lost' the pattern )

Not sure if it would be problematic because of temp difs, but it'd be rather complicated... Also, the rotor housings are more important anyway. Maybe we can supercharge it, and put an intercooler on
Actually a fan could cool rather well, and if you would ad water or oil cooling to the centerplate... Let's build a 4-rotor water(or oil)cooled, supercharged, intercooled, rotary RC car, and go for the land speed record.

whats is the R/C land speed record ?

you could build a 4 rotor engine and use 1 rotor as a supercharger for the other 3,

one of the orginal applications of the rotary was on NSU's record breaking 'quickly' moped it used a single rotor supercharger and it held the moped speed record at bonnerville !

I think all it would take to convert a rotor and housing into a supercharger would be to move the ports ???

Not sure if one rotor would flow enough for 3 others though ? maybee two rotors boosting and 2 rotors generating the power !

[/QUOTEIt should be on it's way now.
I did not want him to send it so we got it during x-mas..
I'll take some pictures as soon as I get it.
How much did WGT want for their?

Back to the Rcstuff >>>
Hmm.. I think we are getting out of hand now.. *s*
I would really love to build this two rotor but I think I'm going to spend the money on my Rx7..
It would cost quite a bit just to get hold of two or more OS eninges..

Magnus, you don't need two complete OS engines, just one, and as many replacement rotors as you like extra rotors. Sideplate and e-shaft cannot be that hard. The supercharging is more of an idea, not really something to do.... Or maybe if I win the lottery :-)
Kim, there's a Hijack thread nowadays :-)
Anyway: I found a new paintshop, a Mazda dealer I know. His price is much better then what the first guy wanted. Just hope he does a good job. But I think it will work out fine. (hmmm, now I hijaked too)

yep I think the supercharger was more of me and Bart think out loud *lol*

I think WGT wanted about £550 for a high flow stainless system, but it had straight through silencers and longer headers than the Rotechnics one,

Let me know what you think of it as the rotechnics ones are by far the most resonably priced stainless exhausts

shipping/box costs

went to the postoffice for the shipping costs and supermarkets for boxes.

postoffice:
the sending to your country is Euro 5,75 (dimensions of the parcel combined with weight and this is _not_ the slowest by train/boat)

boxes:
well, the boxes @ the supermarkets are not good. either messy/rotten/weak/stink/too small but the postoffice sells boxes for Euro 3 so i want to send them with a lot of used Dutch newspapers that you can read for free ...

so the total cost for either one is Euro 8,75 to ship to your country.
my paypal account is andreas.wijting@bbned.nl (internationally verified)

i can only send the body/bodies on thursday or saturday

greetings,
Andreas.

Bart, Mike and Magnus: got all names, adresses, citys... everything complete and money received, tomorrow i'm going to the postoffice () and send the package to the three of you.

the above is because i must get up early instead of getting out @ 11:00 and the people @ the postoffice are like Porsches... so s-l-o-w...
