I'm under loads of stress, but don't make progress on any of my cars. Should be different from next week on, as all cars are finally in the garage, making it easier to work evenings etc. But the wife never seems to give me any time free from baby-sitter duties
At least I have ordered the rest of the electrical parts I need, so next week I'll fix that, and then hopefully be able to put plates on the car next month. It needs to be roadworthy soon, as I'll be moving to the UK this summer, leaving even less "free minutes"...

cool to see some of the old regulars :-)
So the the job worked out then Bart ? If you have enough free time it'd be great to meet up at one of the shows this year, any idea where in the UK you will based ?
Kim, how is the race car ?
Higgi,
what are you up to at the moment ? racing, drifting, or ... ?

Racecar is fine, spinning like a champ and needs some minor work and money to actually go racing.
Got myself an S2 DD which currently is off-streets for MOT prep.

All the tests are ok, but the burocracy has to do it's job and I'm still waiting for a contract. When the paperwork is done, I'll know where I'll be based (either Carlisle, or Knottingley. But I insisted on Carlisle) and what date I start.
Hopefully that'll be July, since I prefer that for the kids.
I'm not sure about free time. I'm going to work a 35 hour week, but during training (4 months) I'll need to study a lot.
I'll also need to find an insurance company who gives me insurance for the car. And need to find a daily driver etc...
Loads of work to do

My rx7 is till in the garage, will not run 2007..
The Rx5 is "almost sold" it's in a barn close by.
I really miss running a rotary but as for now there is no time or money to fix them up.
I'll have to go to Denmark next year to se some rotary racing!
Let me know when the calendar is set!

How come that sounds so familiar to me??? I'm trying to take the front bumper of since two days, and it's still on... Only got rid (broke all but two, used a saw blade to destroy those two) of the bolts/nuts attaching the bumper to the fenders. Every time I go out and try to work on the car in the garage, someone seems to need me.
Money has been a problem ever since we got kids, but should be solved soon when I change jobs. I'm not going to be rich, but at least there should be something left for the cars.
But what's wrong with your RX-7 Magnus? It's a shame it's of the road! I just started on mine again, and found spider webbs everywhere (incl enginebay, suspension...)! How's that for saying "you neglected me"... I'm looking forward to drive that car again this year.

Hi Oliver,
I'm neither racing nor making babies! Got my hands full with my two little daughters. Hanne has been with me in the garage today. See wanted to be in the RX-7. But she will only drive with me, once I make it less noisy (so she said)
I'm mainly busy with gettig all fed up about moving abroad...

Hi Bart
Your right, maybe making babies is over?, now it's time to enjoy them since they grow up so fast. My oldest son (13) is almost as tall as me..ha! Nice to hear that Hanna has an eye on her Dads RX7, my boys have zero interest in mine. Well, that might change when they can drive.
Keep us posted on your move to the UK

Magnus, You know you are always welcome to stay over for a race, work related or just passing thru. I really hope to have my race car ready for 2008. I will try to keep you all up to date when I have something worth showing.
Oh, get your rx7 fixed up .. would love to see it on my driveway some day!!

great to read how everyone is doing, great to see everyone is still a rotary addict too
Been playing with te 323 today, lots of planning (takes longer than making things !) but it's all good fun. Anyone else been tinkering today ?

At the moment I don't think my Rx7 will be out for some time.
I'm having my thoughts at a fourseater rotary... IF the 5 is not sold I would really like to restore it and make it usable. A nice silverpaint, new AC for comfort, a set och lowerings springs and a set of American racing wheels.... and a niceley tuned 13B...
How's Kim's racecar btw?? Have not checked the site for a while..

It's great to have our old thread back alive, and see all the old boys back Missed you so much
I want the car more silent myself too, Mike. Noisy cars are fun for a while, but I want to use it regulary, and don't like noise all that much. Don't forget I'm working in a loud environment all day. And that's one thing that won't change when I start driving UK trains...
I've been working on the Mariah a bit the last couple of days. I'll start a new thread with some pics later on. I'm taking the front apart, to rewire everything. I want a clean enginebay, so wires must go!
It's also in need of attention in terms of rust. It's all minor right now, but it won't stay minor if I neglect it. I'd need new bushings etc, but I'm a bit short of money (who isn't...) at the moment. I keep making to-do lists and all that sort of things. After the underbody is cleaned and painted/covered again, and the wires are in the right place, it'll need an exhaust, suspension put right, paint... The list never stops.

Hi folks. Sorry for the lengthy absence again. Just thought I'd check in and let you all know I'm still alive, and not deployed to the Middle-East. Hope things are going well for everyone.
