You can't believe this...
My fathers SA went through the car inspections today. Since the state laws overhere mean you can't put an unregistered car through the test as a private person anymore (only with "test drive plates", which you can't legally use), the dealer had to take it. They tested the car at their workshop first, and had to swap rear brake shoes (we supplied the shoes). Total bill for testing/work on the brakes/smaller things and taking it to the inspections: 323€ !
We pick up the car, and I notice the front bumper isn't straight... Seems it took a hit! Bumper is twisted, front valance seems damaged too. As far as I can see the dealer seems responsable for the cars on his property: after all we pay enough for his "services". He simply says: well, we don't know who drove into it, can't help you.
This is really crap. I'm not sure if we can do anything about this, but I guess my dad will have to pay for a new (used) bumper and the painting of it...

We wanted to be there, but we won't be able to get the license plates on time, I think.
Without an RX-7 we won't come. Hopefully we can make it to one of the next events. I'd loved to be there on sunday, but I think my dad is a bit in a bad mood after today... As you know we always drive together, so I'll need to see if he wants to get the license plates tomorrow, and if he feels like going. He wanted at first (we tried to get the car ready for sunday) but seems to have changed his mind after the incident today.

I don't think there's a legal way to settle this. Any sort of legal action would mean costs exceeding the cost of good used bumper. It's more an attitude thing from the dealer: if he had any respect for his customers he'd at least try to find a solution (which for example could be spraying a used bumper on his expenses).
I know Mazda can't help us but I think they do care about how their dealers treat the customers. Nevertheless, we more or less agreed that this was alost case anyway, so we'll simply fix the problem ourselfs, and obviously, won't do business with this dealer again.

Did you e-mail the Belgian Mazda HQ?
And the press?
Nop, I am not kidding you.
What a Japanese car manufacturer not can use is bad publicity...
There must be several car-magazines with reader/writer columns to ask for help. Maybe the magazine can help.
Or try http://www.seniorennet.be , there must be some old-but-not-demented lawyers among...
Don't give up, or the dealer will fool you again, or his colleague, since they can get away with it easily...

Well, it's my dad's car. He'll need to decide if he wants to do something about this issue. All I know is that a front bumper for an SA + spraying isn't cheap, so I think he should at least try to get some of the money back.
