I'm sure that the new Wolf AUS web site will have more info eventually. It used to have all kinds of great stuff, including free downloading of the Wolf3D Windows software and manual for the old 3.x model. The first 4.0 hasn't even shipped to the US yet, so it will be a while before you can get one, anyway. One of the first 20 units to hit the US will have my name on it, so I will be sure to post any info once I finally get it in my grubby hands.

Here is another site with Wolf info, although it doesn't have anything on the 4.0 at this time.

One of those first 20 has MY name on it, too. I can't WAIT for it to arrive. I'm not going as extreme as Evil, but I think I'll be able to make decent power with my 60-1 HFi, FMIC, etc.

Waiting. . .

Hehehe, yeah, and you barely made it, because I think that they are all spoken for now. Hey, b-atch, I've been waiting since February, so I don't want to hear it!

Yes, your setup will be really nice. Also, you will probably have yours running long before mine, as we are going to put the 4.0 on the Sport first, just to test things out. Besides, the guy who is putting the bigger fuel cell in my car won't be back from Spain until mid-January, and who knows how many other delays I'll have on the never-ending 20B project.

BTW, has anyone else noticed that the Haltech Jihad folks seem rather violent towards the Wolf3D 4.0? I think that they see the sales of their DOS-based products fading quckly.

Haltech jihad. I don't know why everyone rags on the Wolf 3D. It works perfectly fine. V4 should be even better.

Ditto. I'll be a little less optomistic about getting one of the first ones though. I'll say I'll be in the top 100...

I got this E-mail on Thursday.

Hey Josh
The online and offline software runs from Windows. Unfortunately
Windows2000 has some issues about other programs using the COM ports so our
software doesn't work but Win98, 95 etc work fine. We are shipping the
version 4 this Monday so if you place an order with one of our dealers you
should get your kit within a week (depending on whether we sell out!!).
The live PC upgrade kit is an extra $100.

regards

ben

This is from the Australian guys but it should be here soon.

No, that's just the EMS. I've had the 20B engine since, um, somewhere around 1998. :p

I do the same thing. It's good to keep abreast of technology.

Because one of the Wolf partners suffered from a collapsed lung a few weeks ago.

Hehehe, NOV 98, so you have me beat. :p

However, the suspension upgrade began in DEC 97, but that's back when I planned on a ported 13B NA, so I'm not sure if that counts.

Yes, that's what I was told, but I thought that that was only holding up the online software.
My mechanic took my car for a drive with V4 in it last week and said it ran really smoothly, but he couldn't put his foot down because it was still untuned. Last Saturday one of the guys from Wolf was helping to set up the idle of the car. I was looking at the online software and it looks pretty nice. I forgot to ask about the data logging though.

Update: I just got a call from my mechanic. He was out tuning the car last night and is putting a new clutch in for me today so it will be ready to pick up tomorrow. I can't wait to drive it!

I picked up my car from my mechanic on Saturday morning and have driven about 100kms since then with the Wolf 3D V4 running the car. There are a couple of glitches in the system which will be fixed in the NY but overall I am very impressed with the system. My mechanic is even more impressed with it because he is constantly comparing it with the old system and is always saying how much better it is.

As for datalogging I had a bit of a search around the hand controller and read the manual and there doesn't seem to be any datalogging with the hand controller anymore. I don't have the online software yet because it is not quite ready to be released but I would assume that the datalogging would be included in that software. Hopefully the lack of logging in the controller means that the software will have full datalogging capability. It would be crazy if it didn't.

sorry james,
you shoulda bought a Microtech MTX8 IMHO.
I hear nothing but horror stories about the Wolf,
yet have never heard of anyone blowing their motor on an MT8 or any of its analogues.
The tuners I have spoken to all say that the Wolf is inconsistent, and seems to have a mind of its own.
But each to their own I s'pose, distributors are bound to knock their competition, and EMS's are all much of a muchness in essence, unless you wanna spend $1000000000000000000000000000000000000 on a Motec or Autronic or something equally upper bracket.

I dunno, i just find it strage that Pete, a Wolf distributor, with the help of Wolf representatives themselves, after spending an inordinate amount of time on your car, STILL can't get it running at full flight.

I guess I am just prejudiced against the Wolf EMS.

Sorry
