To make a long story short on my FC. The car was T2, blew up and the owner didnt have money, swapped in 6 port NA on fake weber and dual MSD boxes. I have since sold fake weber and dual MSD boxes since fake webers suck and you cant tune them properly.

Now that we are up to speed, I have since purchased a nice ITB kit from EFI Hardware in Australia. My plan for ECU is to run a Link AtomX ecu and build my own harness. I will have to convert the dizzy it was on to a CAS, which I havent looked into greatly yet.

Now for the real question, im trying to plan out spark. I believe I still have the T2 coil packs, but i need to double check. I think I damaged one of them when removing the MSD wiring. I was considering going LS coils, but im unsure what makes sense price wise. I need whatever route I go down to be reliable, but my goals are not large. 175hp maybe on the ITBs would be great.

Which setup makes sense with price in mind? Also any information on what I need to change to go from distributor to CAS would be appreciated. Thank you!

 

Factory mazda trailing coils fire using a "toggle system", which a lot of aftermarket ecu's do not support. I'm unsure about Link, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

LS coils are pretty cheap, reliable, and will have no issues at your power level.

for an NA that is keeping a stockish (8500) redline you could use almost anything. especially if you use direct fire instead of waste spark
