Joe,

I've used the new AVC-R and have had severe boost spiking at the track (road racing). See my "trials and tribulations" page at: http://www.purplemantis.com/RX-7/apexi_avcr_setup.htm.

Drag racing works fine, but on a road racing course, I think the AVC-R will be okay if you keep your main cat.

Gene,

thanks for the information. Have read your report with great interest and have one question:

I have downloaded the AVC-R manual and found on page 28 something about a Feedback Speed paramter. Have you ever changed this paramter to get rid of your boost spiking problem ?

Yep, tried that. Higher feedback speed creates more boost oscillation, lower less, but nothing cures spiking with a fairly modified car.

I've also tried decreasing duty cycles (and boost) to almost zero around the turbo transition point. That didn't work either.

Again, my boost is much more controllable with the stock cat. The AVC-R would probably work fine with that setup.
