Intake, DP, CB, IC: Safest ECU?
Intake, DP, CB, IC: Safest ECU?
My goal for this car is to keep it reliable. It has low mileage, and I'd like to keep it from popping for a long time. The car already had IC, intake, and CB when I bought it, and I added the rest as "reliability" mods. I keep boost at or below stock levels. I'm wondering whether should I upgrade the stock ECU with an M2 or something similar?
My thoughts are:
Stock = possibly lean
M2 = Probably not lean, but maybe tuned more aggresively at the expense of engine life (???)
So the question is, which ECU will make my motor last the longest (assuming no other mods).
Any help appreciated

You are perfectly fine with the stock ecu at 10 psi. A "chipped" ecu like the M2 will allow higher boost levels, which will, of course, shorten engine life. If an engine only lasts 80k, that is typically at least 8 years of driving.
