Haltech water sensor in a series 5
Well, the engine is together and I'm preparing to install it and the Haltech. For those of you who have installed one on a 89-91, where did you mount the water sensor? The back of the water pump has two factory sensors in it already, so there's no room in the spot that the Hitman's website suggests. So I think I have two options.
A. Enlarge and tap one of the existing holes and dump the old sensor, but which sensor do I use. I want the factory water temp gauge to still work.
or
B. Drill and tap a new hole in the passenger's side of the water pump, but I don't know if there will be enough room there after everything else is in place.
Thanks

The sensor in the water pump with the green plug is the stock coolant temperature sensor. It gives the stock ECU the temperature, but not the gauge. The sensor for the gauge is in the driver's side of the rear housing.
Just remove the stock coolant sensor and tap that hole. You need to use a 3/8" NPT tap. That requires a 37/64" drill bit.
