FAQs & howto's- where are they? Haltech & powerfc

Starting R&D on the haltechs. Where's the good FAQs?

My initial questions:

- Haltech vs powerfc
- digi-readouts vs mechanical
- which haltech ecu to use when & where
- power vs fuel economy fuel maps
- best sensors to buy - o2, thermo

Haltech's site had jack.

Haltec- Better set up. Same cost for unit. Has better features
Bad things- Cant run OMP. Will need to run pre mix fuel, Cost of install is a factor.
PFC- Uses all stock sensors and wiring harness, easy to use, plug and play. Installs in mins.
Bad things- Uses stock sensors, Tend to be inferior to higher end sensors, No data logging or other important features. Cannot save maps to be uploaded and downloaded etc.

Another downside with the PFC is that you're limited to 17.5 PSI unless you buy the boost control unit. The Haltech E6K will allow about 30 PSI. There's also alot more support for Haltech stuff.

You don't need to do ignition timing above 17psi anyway, if you want to run higher boost than that with a Power FC, just get a Greddy Rebic4, or a Haltech F5, these are both additional injector controllers and will provide extra fuel above 17psi.

I'm slightly confused about all of this. I have a Power FC and stock map sensor, what do i do to run 25psi safely? Are there any shops in the Southeast that can reconfigure whatever needs to be reconfigured? Thanks for the help!

just buy a Haltech E6K to begin with,

do it right,
do it once,
do it with haltech

I think it's ALOT easier to just install a additional injector controller, plug in a Power FC, tune the aic, and have better driveability, better ignition resolution, have the OMP working properly, better gas mileage, and not have to cut up the harness(just in case you wanna go back to stock), keep the O2 sensor for driveability, knock sensor for timing retard, etc. etc. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
