ECU mounting spot

Think I found mine. The only thing that sucks is that the sticker is upside down. I really wanted to mount it vertically...

Most people I know put it in the glovebox. Above the passenger side kick panel is also an option.

My serial cable is about 6 incles long. So unless I want an extention, it would be hanging out of the carpet. I would eventually like to make a spot for it on the center console. The serial cable that is.

Ok, I made a hole in the glove box, and routed the wiring. I messed it up by putting the hole to far right, so I had to make it bigger. Ill fix it some rainy day. I also still need to secure the unit. I was thinking of putting the port right underneath the glove box, in the plastic. I dunno, Ive got 1 million thoughts in my head right now.

Have you wire you engine bay yet. Where did you mount your Map sensor, and where did you pull vacuum from? I've got a thousand ideas right now and am curious to see what everyone else is doing.

I thought about installing the computer under the passenget seat and running the cable in the arm rest center console. Do they sell caps for them so they don't get dirty, when not in use?

Im changing my mounting spot. Im putting it in the place of the old ECU. Any other place just consumes too much of the wiring harness. Now I need a new glove box. I should really think twice before I hack. The harness snakes pretty well around the blower motor etc. Im going to mount my MAP sensor on the firewall, right by within a foot of where the ecu harness hole is in the firewall.

thats the cool thing about the haltech, you can mount any map sensor antwhere you want. mine is on the fire wall right under the stamped in vin #, on the 20b thats where the stock map sensore was plugged into. you should try to plug the vacuum line into the factory port.

Mine is scrapped. I have a powder coated block off plate now. and i guess i can drill or weld a fitting. How about all the little vacuum plugs that go on the intake plenum of the upper intake manifold. Could those be used for that or for lets say, boost gauge, boost controller.? I'm curious.

Yes it is, but my Profec-B requires two positive feed vacuum lines. One is for the solenoid and the other is for the actuator (the piece that goes inside the car). Some one once said not to tee off the same line for the two and that you would get better response if you use a source on the manifold, to get more accurate readings.

Ok now, i was just told not to install the E6K in the stock location for the possibility of there being a lack of airflow, and insufficient cooling. Anyone?

there are tons of people running the e6k in the stock location. when i had the stock t2 motor and the acv blocked off, the map sensor was plugged into the bov line, and it ran ok

HHHmmm okay then, i guess it won't overheat. I live in West Texas and 100+ isn't all that uncommon.
