1600cc fuel rail mod

1600cc bore diameter
The diameter for the 1600cc is 0.547 in the fuel rail....Sometimes you gotta do things yourself.....As far as I'm concerned Syke33, you take your comments and shove them right up your A$$....$20, I got your 20 right here buddy.....

The half cut is moving along slowly but surely. Got the SE engine pulled, the TII engine and tranny pulled, and the tranny is about ready to come out of the SE too. Been working on it about one day per week. Brad there is helping me in a BIG way.

so if i brought my fuelrail to a shop and said "bore this to 0.547" they should know what i'm talkin bout? do they need to know if it's metric or in millameters or something? thanks for the size dude! saved me some money as for i am a low budget racer.

in the southeast you wouldn't have to say anything because no one around here talks in metric unless you YELL ITS METRIC and even then they might not have a clue where to start on that.

I use a 0.562 end mill which is equivilent to a 9/16 bit. Don't go all the way through with that size though. You need to drill a smaller hole at first just a little under the size of the top of the injector. After doing so then use the bigger bit and go deep enough so as the injector would stop before the fuel rail bottom out on the injector plug socket. Also it's very important that you chamfer the entry on the fuel rail so that the O-ring on the injector would fit easier and would not hang and damage which would lead to leakage!
Now if you found that difficult you could always send me your fuel rail and for a small fee I could have it all done!

Has anyone heard of anyone having problems with the 1600's seating in the housing correctly. Sorry I can't recall the thread (and it may have been 550's) but seems like someone what having to mess with the o-rings to get the injector to seat correctly???

Last, has anyone seen the spray pattern for a 1600? Just guessing, they probably like higher pressures. Think those air bleeds (the plastic thingies) under the injectors will work as planned?

I have solved my prolbem with the prolbem you mentioned but it going to cost everyone $20 for the info that I found out, jk im still trying to figure out what im going to do but I will keep everyone posted.

I guess I should check back on threads. It is quite amusing that people flamed me for selling information that is right in front of them. First I give the info on how to get the measurements, then I offer to sell them. If you are dumb enough to not be able to call Bosche, or to measure yourself with a set of calipers I cannot help.
At least Spyfish understand I go out of my way to help most people on this forum or on the big list. I could go with my standing offer to any rotary person, pay for my airfare, give me a warm place to sleep and feed me and I will work on your car for free. Anyone want to fly me out to there city to have me drill a couple holes in a piece of Al?
Anyone look in a phone book and call a local hot rod shop and ask if they could do it for you? I found three places within 100 miles of me that could drill my rail.
Granted, Ryan and Jason perform a good service putting up the bill for this forum, but I also pay to have my site up without a ton of banners on it. Should I stop doing it? I have better things to do with my lunch break than to read flames about how people lack any motivation.

If you read the thread you will see that people DID call the vendors in question to get the measurements, and were met with "I don't know" answers.
In the mean time, the person who began this post went to a machine shop and had his rail drilled.
A lot of us do nice things for the rotary community. A lot of us are on mailing lists and forums. A lot of us provide information via websites we pay for ourselves. A lot of us don't get cocky and ask people to pay for something they could just post for free either.
Take this as a flame if you want. Charge for info if you want. Make suggestions like "call the vendor, they'll know" that have already been done. Do what you want. Point is that this is not a forum for people to make money off giving advice or information. I'm fairly certain that the Admins would like some advertising money if that's what you are into. And I'd also assume your PayPal account will not overflow with money from people agreeing with the value you place on your own expertise.
If you don't like the scene inside the room, leave the door shut.
Put a little love in your heart.
