number one not trying to get on the wrong foot with you because im tired of haters in forums. but you can tell im a newb because of my post number. and i may be a newb to rotory but not to cars or drifting. i know any other cars that i or friends have dropped 350s in do not get good gas milage specialy not better than a modded stock motor. but your right maybe i dont have rotory down yet. but i can also tell you EITHER WAY YOU LOOK AT IT drifting like stated above is not about power. sure initiation is easier but its suspension all the way. if you cant get sidewayz with 150 hp motor or even less depending on weight distribution and suspension then you shouldnt drift. or should work on it more. =))

One thing to keep in mind when you're learning to drift an Rx7 with an LS1 it's like your learning to drift in a different car. The handling will not be the same as if you're in a rotary. I'm a lil bias to the rotary and I'd say learn to drift it with it's original set up and then upgrade to an LS1. But if you got the money then drop in that LS1!! There is just something special about drifting the FC with it's rotary cause it's in a class of it's own

ls1 is more newby drifter friendly. Its easier to fix mistakes with a very torquy v8.

With a rotary or turbo cars you--- have to master the powerband to not let the engine fall in its face.

^^^ makes alot of sense. plus with a non turbo car its not as hard on it to pin it while coming around. with the turbo its alot better to fluctuate the gas wich some people that are new to driving and or drifting seem to have a problem with it.

LS motors aren't just for newby drifters. people like em because they are less prone to failure and just as fun as any rotary. and for that s14....is that thing ever drifted? looks like one initiation with counter steer will bend out is front fenders. and those are way to straight

you could claim the same crap with Hachi's and their "massive" 80hp.

**** that. It's the driver not the car.

More car/power means you get to do bigger things without having to sweat the small stuff.

I think you will miss out on a lot of knowledge if you start drifting with over 250whp. If you dont believe me watch this video to see why the japs are better.

And why they say an underpowered car teaches the driver. Watch parts 1-3.

this is 1/3

Without even watching those vids I can say that it is better to start out with something basic. You will learn more and have better car control when it is all said and done.

There are places where you need power to carry out what the judges are looking for but that being said the approach to completing a corner or series of corners will vary greatly depending on your power levels. Your suspension will also have to change to support what the cars gonna do.

Judging by those videos that car has too many mods for the drivers experience. The car is pretty flat but has some understeer probably from it being too low and some bad acceleration control.

i agree on the you dont need a high horsepower car to start drifting. but an experienced driver with a LS motor can be quite enjoyable to watch
