DEPENDS on what is WORN OUT in your diff that determines what you're going to need to buy.

You should just need new plates. at most. Everything else in there is stout.

Diff uses 2 pairs of friction plates and 2 pairs of friction disks USUALLY. I say "usually" b/c when i pulled my stack it was a frankenstein mess. 6 conical washers, 2 pairs of friction disks and 1 pair of friction plates.

Sandblast it.

The guts should be ok if the case was filled and/or sealed.

You wont know what you need to do until you take it apart.

Does the vlsd bolt right up to where an s5 lsd is located? I have a turbo II lsd and want to go welded but i dont feel like swapping the drive shaft flange out.

yes... the S5 TII is VLSD stock. There is no need to change any flanges, just weld it up!

I'm really not sure what your asking....

A welded diff is a welded diff... always locked... sucks in parking lots, ect..

If you car was na you need: TII rear, TII axles, and a custom driveshaft from the na trans to TII rear.

If you have a TII rear already just save up and get a Kazz or a Tomei... or OS Giken if you want a real ******* dope diff

It is worth the $ to get the real diff, every penny.

I swapped my na to TII and did the OS Giken diff... it's dope.

Like are the stubshafts in the vlsd weak like the ones in the N/A diff? If i where to weld a diff, which diff would be the most reliable to go with?

Oh god....

All of this HAS been covered.

T2 STUBSHAFTS ARE STRONGER THAN N/A STUBSHAFTS.

VLSD CAME IN T2's ONLY!!!!!!!!

Think logically.....

I guess you could just keep welding, breaking and replacing the na diff

Well, with his power levels, he needs that stuff. V8 torque.

I have a piddly s4 na that's BONE STOCK. So like i said, not necessarily.

I've got a t2 s4 lsd, n/a driveshaft and n/a axles. w00t!

the na diff is strong, just the stub shafts that go into the diff is weak. they tend to snap for guys over 200 hp

It's crazy how a LITTLE BIT MORE MATERIAL holds up.

They aren't that big in comparison. I've had them both out next to eachother. Maybe the metal itself is a stronger grade?

This needs to be looked into more. Seriously.

When i doubt, overbuild.

The t2 diff is plenty strong but most of the guys on here drifting seriously either upgraded to an os giken/kaaz or run welded.
