"You know the famous soccer announcer (football to you internationals), Andrés Cantor, who screams "Goooooaaaallllll" after a score? A bit of performance genius has had some Japanese drift announcers overcome in similar ecstasy. When M. Kawabata launched his Nissan S13 (a 240 SX to us Yanks) into the corner, he threw the car around so quickly the rear end enters the turn first -- and then he kept it under control. It's being called "drifting history" and "the perfect drift" and "the best drift ever.""

First wow, that was amazing.
My question is, in the first link, you can see him inside the car at the end of the video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBSVq...layer_embedded)
What kind of transmission is that? I don't think it was a dog, as I don't think he let go of the gas at all.... Are pro drifters rocking fully clutchless transmissions? I mean, it makes sense, but I never thought about it. He is shifting gears mid drift, like it's nothing. What do those things cost? Like $15K? Maybe they are the norm overseas?
Just something I noticed.

Edit: Wait, now that I look at it more, he might be lifting off the throttle just a little every shift. (wow) If so he is rocking a dog box.
He might also be putting the clutch in though.. Hard to tell by just the leg movements though. A lot could go on with those pedals. Looks like he is definitely sequential though. (no H)
Thanks

1. Modified knuckles (spindles)
2. I'm sure he's running some pretty big Toyo Proxes. Maybe between 225-235's front, and maybe somewhere between 245-275's in the rear I'm guessing depending on how big his wheels are.
