Not to jack your thread, but I am looking for a helmet as well. But I will try to help you out.

I would suggest getting a SA2005 helmet. You will be able to use almost anywhere for atleat the next 5 years, SA2010 comes out later this year. Look at different helmet manufactures, find the SA05 then see what you like, if you can test fit them even better.


I have these 2 in mind HJC AR-10 and Bell BR-1. I will be using this for dual purpose in the car, and open wheel (karting). I know the AR-10 is 3.5lbs suppose to be one of the lighter helmets on the market. Not sure on the BR-1.

Any users of these two?

don't remember exact weight but it's fairly light
but looks way evil
I paid 375
they have a new one called the diamondback buts itcway pricey but u can't really put a price on ur life so don't pinch pennies on ur headgear
I also use suomy's they super light and have all kinds of visors lol

What's a decent priced SA helmet?

I'm pretty sure they want a SA rating for XDC.
