Drift car build

Ok so my car is finally getting somewhere and I just wanted some opinions that have done this before.

The car is a fc3s with a ls1/t56 in it. The t-56 is being built right now and Im currently working on all the body work.

I have the whole interior stripped read for primer, the interior harness has all been gutted so I only have what I need, also just took the dash out.

questions

1. I have seen people cut the rear strut covers off, what is the cleanest and easiest way to do this?

2. When I removed the dash, the big as unit along with the heater core I believe is there mounted to the firewall. Can I remove the white AC unit and still have heat?

Just making sure im doing everything ok, I stripped everything and got it down to bare metal. I bought Duplicolor primer (not spray can I have a spray gun) and was going to do three coats primer then three coats automotive paint.

Also I have the headliner out and have no clue what to do with the roof, id like to keep it gutted and maybe throw some paint, car does have sunroof.

Thanks,
I appreciate the help.
