Then save your cash. Your just going to have to upgrade again if you go GC. Really depends on how far/good you want to get. GC will only be slightly better then stock. (if urs arnt blown) and cost is up there as well for new. Unfortunately 1K is entry level. Once your skill improves your equipment needs to be upgraded. No way around that if you want to keep up. I say spend it on track time and tires until you can go at least entry lever coils. Maybe try finding some used ones.

KTS rocks! Tein's are awesome! Max's go pretty low.

Um, buy used? nothing wrong with second or third hand coilovers. The more hands they change, the cheaper they get. Do what i did. Post a wtb in the classifieds being specific of what you want and what your budget is. You'll get a bite within 2 weeks. I promise.

buying used suspension is a horrible idea.

Save up, buy MAX, KTS, Stance all are great. $1000 is really not a lot of money.

You could see to import HSD'd from the UK.. they are awesome, but im not sure about the cost on us shipping etc.. my bet is it will be too expensive, but thought I'd throw it out there.

i have Megan Street Series. 8kg front 6kg rear. they are a little over a G but worth the money, great entry level coilovers i think. not the greatest in the world but they get the job done. my only real complaint with them is that the bolts that connect them to the chassis are smaller then the factory so there is play in the strut tower when the bolts are loose. hopefully when they are completely tight they aren't moving around lol.

Great entry level coilovers BUT not for that price. If they dropped em to $750-800 then maybe.....

This man speaks the truth.

On the real, you're going to pay out the *** for decent suspension. There is NO way around it.
