Clutch Kit Question
I need opinions on clutch kits from 1ST or 2ND hand experience. I'm only shooting to make 200-250whp so I don't need a crazy triple plate carbon fiber etc etc etc. I'll wait til my car is a bit more seriously built for that. I want a good clutch kit for $200 to $300 maybe a bit more if it's really worth it. Centerforce has 2 for under $300, a "organic" and a "dual friction", anyone ever tried them before? I'm using a USED TII clutch that I got from a friend for free that I thought I would destroy but it's actually lasted 4 or 5 events. So basically anything is a upgrade.
Opinions on materials would be good as well. Also, it's gonna be sprung, I've had unsprung before and I just don't think it's worth it. I like a little give.

^+1, I have good spec experience as well.
I have a SPEC Stage III clutch on my turbo miata about 250wtq, about 6 drift days on it so far, it still feels awesome. Got it for pretty cheap new on ebay too.

I have a SPEC stage 3 in my car... 480whp... it takes it like a champ. Every clutch I've put in my cars since '04 has been SPEC. I've talked to a few people who have had some issues with the Stage 2 and with the Stage 3+ friction disc sticking to the flywheel when they really beat on the car hard... SPEC attributed it to the solid disc configuration/material heating up and sticking. After the car cooled, it would break free again.... They switched to the Stage 3 or the Stage 4 with a 4 or 6 puck disc and havent had the problem since. One of those guys was Aaron Losey .

I LOVED my spec. +1 here. Stage 2 and had no issues. I wAnted to keep it cause there wasn't may miles on it but my engine builder jacked it and put a stock clutch back in. ***!!! But I got such a good deal on the port and rebuild that I said **** it lol but get spec and never be disappointed.

lol at all the spec response.. as much as i never sell/recommend spec clutches at my shop, i do have a spec clutch in my s13 right now (got a used 6 puck for free when my stock one took a ****) and it's held up to an entire year of abuse and still holds as awesome as ever.
other than that, i will always always ALWAYS recommend exedy stage 2 to all of my customers who are keeping it under 300whp. stock pedal feel but hold up to abuse VERY well. you should be able to find one for around $350
and just to put it out there from experience, do NOT go ACT! absolutely terrible. ridiculously stiff pressure plates for no reason whatsoever, and i know im not the only one that has had them literally fall apart to pieces after a while of hard driving
