My homie Keoni is doing the fuel cell mounts, and helping out a ton on the build. Can't post too many pics till it's done, but i'm really impressed with his attention to detail! Fully removable structure, securing the 3 fuel pumps, cell, and lines to the 1gallon surge tank which is mounted to the rear tube chassis.

He's been straight killing it! I've been sleeving all the wiring and meticulously soldering, and heat shrinking every single connector to be absolutely perfect, and aligned.... Lol this thing is starting to rack up a lot of man hours, but its so worth it. I hope everyone will appreciate the attention to detail and i hope it works this year lol

Fuel cell structure is all finished up, dimple'd out and ready for paint. I mounted the surge and bosch 044's tonight.

Prepping bash bar for more gussets and paint

Finally finished up the painless 8 circuit lighted switch panel/chassis harness. 100% sleeved, heat shrunk, soldered, tested, and fully operational.

Battery, starter, and alternator wiring finished up.

Just waiting on my racepak to get in, and then literally have to make mounts for that to the steering column, and then finish the engine harness and surge tank/fuel cell hardlines and it's off to get tuned in Cali.

More updates soon! Hit up my instagram for build progress @driftfcbuckey

You know that fuel cell wont pass Formula d pro am events. I had the same fuel cell and Kevin wells "Technical inspector" said it was illegal. Not sure how far you plan to go, but this might limit the events you can do

You gotta find the formula d 2013 rule book. They use the same book for pro am. Im not sure if the local drift events buckey attents would care but why limit yourself if the plan is build the car right the first time.

The rule book states that no "drag style" full cell can be installed use. Meaning the rear baffle and hoses coming out of the tank. Also in his picture that type of style fuel cell which was the same one I ordered cannot be mounted with those tabs. It will eventually brake the weld from the tank. Believe me that I didnt want to order a $600 fuel cell but if it prevent me from catching on fire ill spend the extra cash.

I dont have the 2013 Rulebook, but 2012 fuel cell section is the same as 2011, same as 2010, same as 2009....

8.4.FUEL SYSTEM
8.4.1. Fuel Cells
8.4.1.1. The fuel system design is free. Fuel cells meeting SFI 28.1 are recommended.
8.4.1.2. Fuel tank/cell must be separated from the driver’s cockpit by a permanently
mounted steel or aluminum bulkhead. Fuel cells may be installed in the interior of
the car, preferably within the confines of the roll cage structure.
8.4.1.3. The floor pan may be modified to fit a fuel cell and lines.
8.4.1.4. Fuel cells must have a flapper valve installed to prevent spillage in the event of a
roll over

From what I can see... the only thing I see that Kevin can fail is the lack of flapper.... He is the judge, jury, and executioner when it comes to tech though. He knows his ****.

*edit* ...and that there isn't a steel/aluminum cover over the cell YET... Bucky, Make sure that **** seals tight... I watched Mike Skudlarek's car push flames into the hatch area and melt his Lexan windows out at ECB this year.

I have had a fully sealed firewall since 2010. Its just not in right now. Bulkhead meaning? Im confused.. It has the back valve to prevent spilling if flipped over?

Bulkhead/sealed fire wall... same ****. Just gotta make sure the fuel system is sealed off from the passenger compartment.

Bucky like this

Jaz Products Flapper Fill Valves 390-004-01 - SummitRacing.com

and/or this for the vents on the top...

Jaz Products Fuel Cell Tip Over Valves 834-006-11 - SummitRacing.com

its so if you roll the car, it doesnt puke fuel out of the vent tubes or the fill cap

Really? PS2000 should have the port on it I thought. If not, its only like 3 wires to splice into the haltech harness, at least it was for my E8

Thats what i thought also.. Just figured they'd run a long harness with clips on. Theres 2 connectors i have to terminate i think it goes to the haltech side. But it has the shielded wire in it and that stuff sketches me out.. I need to figure out how to do it.

I mounted it though.

Looks good in there man! You're going to love it once it's all hooked up and working correctly, definitely worth the effort. I love mine in my car.

CAN Bus port for direct plug in communication with Racepak and Aim Dash system.
Kinda misleading then?
