Buckey's Pro-Am Build: '87 Mazda RX7 TurboII
#1480
I have partnered up with Touge Factory for the remainder of 2012, and for the 2013 Season. I will be utilizing their Touge Factory 13b-REW billet Pulley setup for my 3rd gen swapped FC RX7!
Tonight I have been preparing my motor to be tossed in for hopefully the final time for awhile. Resealing the oil pan, installing the Banzai Racing block off plates, and removed the subframe to paint it. I have to leave the motor out until the pulleys come in to install the crank pulley - trying to do anything possible to make progress in the meantime.
(Current pulleys^)
Found this pic sitting around before the paint.
Hoping to be wiring the car by tuesday or weds, then planning to tune the next coming week.

Parts Shop Max FC3S RX7 Drop Spindles came in. Huge thanks to Dan, and Martin at PSM for all of their help. Really looking forward to this coming season!
I will have mounted photos tonight, and once their front control arm setup is produced tere will be more pictures.
Some of the best welds i've ever seen..

They're just seperate offices. Stumbled into this place and was a cool start to get the ball rolling. Hopefully in the next 6-12months i'll need a bigger shop and move maybe.
Here's the mounted pic! Still doing the other side, but killing time for food!

The next time im in vegas i'll def stop by your shop and check out that beauty!.. Such a clean setup, the attention to detail is an example of how you do good buisness!..

Tossed on the endless pads, parts shop max drop knuckles, bushings, and got the car back on the ground.
The car is tucking tire, same height as before - but now has the tie rod geometry as a stok ride height car. I can lower it even more if the chassis would physically allow it to roll, and still have better tie rod/steering feel than before.
..and this stuff. Again.... Probably skipping the surge tank for the deadline i have. But will have it plumbed when i get some free time in the next few weeks.

Not staring ****, Dude if you didnt try to make a ******* race car where u changed every single aspect of the car you would actually be driving. Keep it simple man your wasting time on dumb ****. No hate I just like seeing people on the track rather than working on there "track" car all the time.

I don't understand why everyone hates so much. I respect this build as much as any budget garage build.
There's two ways of building a car. You can either take the time to drop tons of money into building the car the way you want, wasting years in preparation of what the car will turn out to be, or you can build it to get on the track as soon as possible, overlooking the less necessary details. If you do the latter, then you eventually come to a point where you HAVE to finish the car the way you need to to improve. It's the natural order of things, you can either drift your hoopdy street car in back roads and parking lots for the rest of your life or you can improve, letting your skill evolve into what inevitably ends up in being a pro am driver.
Everyone comes to the point where they have to take a step back, let their car evolve into what it has to become.
Unless you're rich, then you can just dump 20k into your car right off the bat and learn to drive after that. Problem with that is, the power and mods tend to act as a handicap until you learn what you're doing.
Either way, Buckey's car did what he wanted it to back then, and he's taking the time to rebuild it to do what he wants it to do now. I can agree with that and respect it.

I have friends ive helped out ******* me around. I have guys i helped look out for their friends ******* me in programs i hoped to be in this season. I keep getting fucked around - and i'm switching the tables. I gave some dudes parts from my car to help see them do well while i sat out. Took my car to get it aligned and never got it touched just for dude to talk a bunch of **** on me and let his homie walk all over me in the process. Everyone looks at me like the bad guy cause i sit back and stay quiet but thats done with.... Im not driving because i can not afford to keep getting taken advantage of. I'm now focusing on driving, and not focusing on helping out anyone that isnt actually helping me out.
Hence why my car has seen so much work in the last few weeks. When its running the dudes who gave props will hopefully still be around - and everyone who talks **** to me when im down, ill remember each and everyone that knocked me to others...
On another more positive note:
i'm now selling my 100% custom designed Glossfactory 85mm front FC Fenders to help fund my program for 2013. I am offering sponsorships to a few select cars interested in running my fenders, and willing to come out of pocket for materials, and run a sticker.. The rear 60mm should be available shortly once the molds are sorted. No need to worry about "sagging this" or "doing this wrong" mount and go with aggressive blister styling.
