because it will look like ****. I have an s4 and an s5, both are white. s4 bumpers are boring and look like they come out of the bad part of the 80s. They need the black stripe to break up how boring the car looks. s5 bumpers are more dramatic and stylized to the car. The reason for slight body updates like bumpers and painted trim are to make the consumer feel like they are buying a "new model."

All im saying is dont age your car anymore than it is.

There used to be a pic of a white s4 with an s5 bumper on it and the trim was painted black. i personally think it was ugly. google image s4 with s5 bumper rx7. it should be like the fourth pic. the original must have been deleted because the pic is small.

I guess. But this car inspired me.

As for painting, I have no experience painting. Should I take them to a shop or just rattle can them?

depends how nice your car is. I think duplicolor makes a trim specific paint. If you have a daily beater type just lightly scuff it with a scotch bright and some comet until it isnt shiny anymore, mask it off and spray that ****. try to make it uniform.

Edit: this is what happens when you paint your s5 trim black:

I think I might stay white, keep it clean. Want to pick up a shine lip and factory skirts so can just paint them all at once.

Question: How should I go about mounting the moldings? The car is S4 originally so the fenders don't have the clips for the rear section. I'm assuming 3M tape for the door and the little piece.

you'll probably have to cut/grind off the rear clips on all the moldings so they'll go on flat, then yes 3m tape. its way too much work thats why i still dont have all my moldings on.
