Ive seen fds drift well with just the stock lsd. I dont think any fds come with a open diff to weld.

some members have spent half that amount for the OBX ebay lsd and havent heard anything bad about it yet. cept for the name of course. you can also go the S4 TII diff route if you can find one.

Torsen's don't wear out. They do however eat themselves after ~400hp.

If the OP wants to weld a diff for an FD, why doesn't he sell the helical unit (which would fetch a good price) and buy a S5 turbo open diff to weld?

S5 turbos came with open diffs, right? If not, then weld up the viscous unit I guess...

HA.

Seriously, why would you weld an already operating LSD? $800 is chump change when compared to everything you will probably buy for your drift build.

He would have to swap the S4 TII LSD in and get the oversized clutch disks from mazdatrix. To completely replace all the disks, your at roughly 500 bux. Save the extra 400 and get the KAAZ.

Tsuchiya can drift beautiful with a stock FD

so if you can't drift with your FD it's not the Diff's fault.
and you don't even have the excuse that your LSD is worn out, because torsen never wear out !

If someone wants cheap, get a 240. Honestly lol!!!!. I mean, 200 bux for the S4 LSD, and then 500ish for the shims!!!!! your at the price of the KAAZ unit.

If your cheap, or dont make the scratch, or cant do your own work, dont get into drifting, modifying cars, drag racing, any motorsport. ****, go buy a bike!!!!!!

And yes, there is aLOT of rice/cheesy/dangerous/damaging mods talked about in here.
