I will be back home tomorrow so I will install my new ARD Alternator.
I will have a very lightly used IR PPerformance upgraded Alternator for sale I can bring with me.. when I say lightly I mean like maybe 1000 miles?
The rx3 will not be there this year unfortunately, the bridgeport is hurt.... I will be a new acquisition a 90 Vert.... not nearly as fun for me but at least its a rotary.... Blue will be back stronger than ever next year!

Sucks to hear about the 3 but I'm glad you'll still be going.

Damn, sorry to hear that! At least you're still going and have another rotary ride to take, and the fixes to the RX3 doesn't sound like it involves unobtainium parts.

Yeah it just really low on compression on the front rotor and although it still runs great it is getting a little hard to start while warm so.... I will just have to stay in the back of the pack this year as the vert is a heavy slug!! lol
Anyone caravaning from the FL west coast on the 26/27th?
Two of us are leaving from Orlando on Wednesday morning… don’t have exact time yet but probably before 9am.
You are welcome to join us or we can meet up somewhere more north(I-75)in Florida on the way.

Plan is to meet Wednesday morning 7am at the Turkey Lake service plaza(on the Turnpike) and head out by 7:30am.
We're leaving that early cause we don't arrive at the cabin too late...(its about 9.5hrs to Bryson City)
If you guys can make it that'd be great but if not no worries... we'll see ya up at DGRR
Well I recently put a new OEM plastic fender liner in my FD to replace the hacked up one that the PO left me, and after taking a spirited drive along one of the curvier local roads (which are not anywhere near as twisty as the dragon), I discovered that I have a bit of front tire rubbing happening on both sides. It only rubs when the suspension is at or near full compression, and only when my steering is at full lock (turned left for left side, right for right side). So this has me thinking it will be fine for me to drive the FD down to DGRR both ways, as it won't rub much if at all cruising on the interstates, but if I take her for a ride on the dragon & nearby roads, those new liners will be trashed and it might even compromise the wiring behind it.
I really WANT to take the FD, but it will suck to not be able to drive it on the dragon for the 1st time... I COULD just take the FC again, but that means I'll have some minor prep work over the weekend on the FC which I haven't planned for. So what do you all think? My options are (1) Take the FD but sit out the dragon - I'll just be a passenger in someone else's ride, OR (2) Take the FC again and get to drive the dragon again for the umpteenth time.

Can you not just raise it? Which suspension do you have. I am brining my coilover wrenches with me.... I say the fd

I don't have coil overs yet, and it doesn't look like I can adjust the ride height of what I inherited from the car's PO. Appears I have a set of Tein springs of unknown specs, and a set of Tokico(sp?) 5-way adjustable dampers. So basically a slightly lowered and much stiffer stock suspension. My plan is to install a set of Tein Flex Z coil overs soon, and replace all the suspension bushings. That should get my ride height where it needs to be to fix the rub.
I've been to Deal's about 12 times with the FC, so I'm leaning towards taking the FD this time, but sitting out driving it on the twisty roads. Part of my reasoning is during the drive to & from, I'll be gathering megabytes worth of data logs on the Link G4+ to refine my road tune, and will have an opportunity to meet F2F with a couple of the remote tuner guys & semi-local shops I'm looking at as candidates for dyno tuning when I get back.
I may have to raise mine as it may rub. I had it on an oval track and took some hard "corners" here and that's about it. Nothing twisty so we will see.

Bring the FD Pete.... I think you will be ok on the Dragon if you dont get too crazy.... You can ride in the back of the pack like me this year in the vert! lol

Turn up the stiffness on the shocks all around evenly, that may get you safe for hard corners, especially on the dragon where the turns are pretty short.
So the weather looks great. I was going to put waffles with RWL BFGs on the SA for DGRR this year but given how nice and warm and dry it will be I'm thinking maybe the Rewinds with the Dunlap Star IIs might be in order.

^That's a good idea, though these shocks are pretty harsh even at mid-setting. My kidneys will take a pounding, and bump steer may be a handful, but it might just help reduce the tire rubbing.

FD it is then, I'll either granny drive it through the dragon from the back of the pack, or ride shotgun with someone. Washed, waxed & detailed and ready to roll - hitting the road 0500~0530-ish Wed morning to get ahead of the Baltimore beltway traffic jams, mostly on I-81. If anyone driving down from there wants to caravan, shoot me a PM.
