I would like to see business posts mixed in with general posts, but they could be made a different color text or have a special tag, icon, or font next to them to set them apart. IN fact, this would be productive for what the vendor fees are meant to do...attract attention to what the business is selling.

Thinking long and hard about it, I am not sure that it is not a disadvantage to have to pay to post in a different section than the one that everyone is already used to looking in.

We'll take this up with IB, but I'm not sure how they'll respond. One of the main complaints we got from vendors before was that if they didn't pay for a private subforum, they didn't have a place to post sales. We tried having them post in the regular classifieds forums, and that lead to a lot of the mess we're in now - both because private sellers wound up trying to compete with vendors (and visa versa) which pissed both sets of people off; and because it made it possible for a ton of people to sneak in and start selling on the site without paying, which really pissed off paying vendors. So we created the new "business classifieds" section to resolve the issue.

Anyway we'll bring this up with IB, but I'd like to see how it goes. I've been watching traffic on the Classified section, and watched it shift from the old forum to the new right after we created it. I really think after we get the new forum populated with posts, people will enjoy having the choice.

Main thing to notice here folks is we've made real progress. We finally have a good rate package, and even a super special deal for new vendors. Lets recognize the good here too?

I agree. We make some progress and people start downing it. This further leads to other members "joining" in on the bashing/hazing of new rules and new rates.

What more can be done from the moderator's and the admin's?

ThE $150.00 for 90 days thing is fine.. Plenty would be willing to do this.. And we all know that IB will raise the price after the 90 day period is over.. I personally would decide then to renew or not to renew based on the price..

The Bad: The "Business Classified" Has ZERO traffic! To be bound to only post there is $150.00 wasted.

The Solution: Let US post in the regular Classified Section for the 90 day period, knowing in advance that 90 days from now all vendors ads will move over to the "Business classifieds".. This gives everyone plenty of time to get going again with sales and giving notice that vendors will be moving soon..

Otherwise IB's current offer is incomplete

Why is it that mods can say "this is how it is" and everyone is supposed to just accept it without question and say "oh, how awesome" even if it is not the best solution (from our point of view). But if someone dissents or suggest another path, then they are "complaining, whining, etc." instead of 'trying to make things better" which is what you claim you want.

Some mods accuse me and others of starting drama and being paranoid, well take a look in the mirror every once in a while.

Because it's the same stuff being complained about, and we have been TRYING to make progress on the situation and it just get's annoying to hear the same old thing. And look what it did. It just slowed the process down.

I am just glad there is some resolutioon to this.

Kevin,
We are working on this and have stated that we will be submitting alternatives. Lets focus on that and leave any negativity out of the equation please.

A supposed negative comment does not have to be responded by another supposedly negative comment.

Lets for once just move forward.

So, for $50 per month (3 month pre-pay) and then $100 per month after that, you get everything I was offered at my current price range minus the banner add?

Seeing as how most people have turned off the banners since they got annoying after the buy out, I wonder if I am getting was we pay for monthly?

Or am I just over analyzing this?

No, I'd give them some credit, it appears they have genuinely made an effort to get a compromise for better rates. But it still seems kinda like putting a band aid on a stab wound at this point, and they still become defensive when someone suggests that it could have been planned and executed better.

So there is some clarification to the vendors that were told a while back that they would be able to post in the regular classifieds. This was the direction as given by Ryan at the time. As you can see if was a temporary thing as stated in the thread by him.

Clarification ...

No dealers in classified section means no NON PAYING dealers in the classified section. Paying vendors are of course allowed to post in the classified section until we come up with a separate 'Classified Section Vendor' advertising package. But for now, if they're an approved vendor (they have a subforum and/or are on the IB list of approved vendors) they can use the Classified section.

Yes, they are now up to date because of our meetings and efforts with the Marketing director of IB.
