It is my understanding that they are working on a case by case basis to make it very fair but the Doc would know for sure as I understand he is working directly with IB for a bunch of members.

I haven't heard a peep about it. Odd, considering they are so concerned with the money. I spoke with a business owner today and he has yet to hear from Doc or IB as promised last week.

Doc told me in a PM yesterday that he was sick in bed for a week. He has not been as active as much as he usually is.

actually the unconfirmed numbers I was hearing and very very reasonable... less than I paid before.

As soon as we can get a confirmed numbers we will post them guys.

Roen and myself have also brought up that vendors should be able to part out up to 6 cars per year with no fees or other issues... so hopefully that will go through too.

Ok, here is the official approved lower rate at this time:
$100.00 a month for a signature link, a signature graphics banner and unlimited posting privileges in the Business Classifieds. This also includes unlimited group buys. Before you would have to pay the extra fee with starter packages if you wanted to run group buys. Group buys will still have to be posted in the group buy forum and are not allowed anywhere else on the site.

A Business Classifieds section has been created and is where all business/vendors are to post their classifieds. Businesses/vendors will not be able to post in the private classifieds. Existing vendors that were posting in the private classifieds have until the end of this month to post in there. After that point all of threads are to be posted in the Business classifieds and mods will be moving the existing ones at the end of the month.

When contacting Internet Brands if you want this package you need to state that you want the $100.00 a month starter package.

Any other questions please either pm me or post in this thread.

Thank you,

Note that we are also working on getting a lower cost package approved, but don't have an answer on that one yet.

Sounds good, however I am curious about the individuals that dont own and operate a business, nor never attend to. Is there a limit to how many FS threads they can post a month? This is a question for the people that sell on a 'regular' basis I guess.

Thanks,
Charlie

Interesting. Fair price considering the signature allowance, but I believe it would put businesses/vendors at a disadvantage versus "individuals" when trying to sell parts, because most people are not going to look in the business classifieds as much as they will in the general classifieds for individuals.

This means that businesses actually pay for decreased views versus individuals who can still post free. Hardly seems right.

Looking over the 2 classified areas right now, it seems there are a lot of extraneous sections in the business classifieds. There should be just one business classifieds area...one for group buys, and one for business feedback. IT is far too confusing the way it is.

It would be a better compromise to put the business classifieds as a subforum of the general classifieds, so at least more users would notice it and think to look inside as they are looking in the other classified sections.

I know, I know...all I do is bitch and whine. Just pointing out facts.

IF this oversight were corrected I might consider coming on board.

The reason that the Business classifieds were put at the top of the page is that it would be the 1st classifieds that members would see. Also the fact that it is grouped with the other business sub-forums and group buy sections.

We could put it between the regional forums and the private party classifieds.
That way it would be right above the private party classifieds for more exposure.

Also need to state that effective June 30th, 2008 that all Vendor/Businesses are to post in the Business classifieds. There will be no more posting in the private classifieds allowed by Businesses/vendors.

Off topic but I will respond.

This is what has been agreed on for the private seller.
A private seller is one that does not own or operate a "Business".
-- No more than 1 part out every 2 months. (This means 1 car part out every 2 months)
(6 per year)
-- No more than 5 FS threads a month.

Anymore than that you will have to pay vendor fees.

Their will be more updated detailed information about all of this when the draft is finished and the current rules are amended.

Doc, dont forget to tell them that "NO MORE POSTING" includes :
NO Forsale threads
No responding to WTB threads

You can not offer anything for sale nor can you respond when a member post a WTB thread. If you are a paying vendor or former vendor you can not do anything in the regular classified section.. IB might aswell block Vendors and former vendor from even being able to access that part of the website..

Doc from your recent pm to me, the above is what I interpreted.. except the IB blocking thingy...yet that might be next..

How is that going to be regulated. There is no way to moderate a 'vender' PM'ing someone on a WTB post. Like you said the ONLY way that is possible is to block them. But if they want to buy something second hand how are they going to see the classifieds when they are blocked.

Its not a joke.. it is for real.. If you are a current paying vendor or former vendor, or a regular Registered user with more than 5 F.S. threads monthly or more than 2 car part outs, you are not allowed to post a reply to ANY WTB ads in the regular F.S. section or post any F.S. threads. As per DOC's pm to me at 6:40am this morning.. responding to WTB's is offering parts for sale and it is not allowed.

If you are a PAYING vendor (100.00 per month for now, IB will most likely raise this price later) you will only be allowed to post items for sale in this new BUSINESS/VENDOR FOR SALE section ( Soon to be created). I am guessing that there will be no WTB's in this section, only vendors listing items for sale and regular registered members posting/responding in the vendors thread.

Now responding to WTB's in the regular F.S. section via PM's and not posting...well DOC did not tell me that is not allowed.....YET ..atleast he hasn't. This is why I said IB might aswell block all vendors, former vendors, registered users with more than 5 F.S. threads per month or more than 2 car part outs from even having access to the regular F.S. section.

This proposal is actually worse than before, and I feel like is going backwards..

To all the venders that sell parts I feel for yeah. Say goodbye to alot of your business

Sorry, But you have misinterpreted this.

I did not state anything about private sellers responding to WTB threads. Private sellers can respond to as many WTB threads if they have what the member is looking for. It has nothing to do with if they have exceeded their amount of threads or parts for that period of time.

In my pm to you I stated that if you are a vendor/business and have not payed to advertise on this site. Then you are not allowed to post any for sale threads or post any replies to WTB ads anywhere on this site. Key word is "Post". What you do in Pm's is nothing we can control. Posting is advertising and as a Business all are expected to pay fees to do so. So far we have gone to great lengths to negotiate at Vendors behalf to get lower rates. We have accomplished this with the $100.00 a month starter package which is half of what it was. We are still in negotiations to get a even lower rate. This lower rate will not have the same perks as the $100.00 a month one but will still get your name out their at a very affordable price.

As far as paying vendors/businesses posting to WTB threads in the private for sale classifieds I don't see a problem with that. Again, the key word is "Paying". There is just to be no for sale threads to be started by businesses/vendors in the private classifieds. I also don't see a problem with a paying vendor/business starting a WTB thread in any of the classifieds. It's just the selling of goods that are to be kept in the Business classifieds.

I hope this clarifies this issue.
