"suggestions" section..
"suggestions" section..
why does the forum even have one?
I mean, 99% of the time, mods/admins. don't even address the situation therefore making the section a little useless.
just an observation..

I think the last time someone got a suggestion through it was LUPE, and he got it done by posting it directly in the 3rd gen section for high visibility.
Every now and then a mod will stop in to post about why they don't do certain things, but it does seem that a majority of good ideas receive no action nor acknowledgement.

that's a good one that hasn't been addressed. unless you like it when people are ripped off, i wouldn't consider it "useless."

this is not an easy thing to implement and enforce. remember, we are not your middle man...
the buyer can easily rip off teh sellers

here, we have a lot of "noobs" selling stuff and have no "credibility." now they act like good people and all just to get your money, then money is sent and they leave without a trace.
now, that can also happen with someone reputable as well, but how likely is that? not that often.
i know you know what the trader ratings screen looks like, but here it is for people that don't.

this is the perfect tool to minimized those, "I'VE BEEN RIPPED!! HELP!!" threads.. or for instance, the recent case with Richmond - he used multiple user names to get away with a lot of money.
this would take a big, big tole on scammers. from the forum, i only really sell/buy from people i've actually talk to or seen a lot of on the forum, not someone who one day designs to sign on his 2 year old account to purchase/sell things.

Ever peruse the Good Guy / Bad Guy section and pick out all the nasty ones?
Now try and search for the person who ripped the other person off - TONS of search hits.
This Forum or it's admins should not be responsible for idiocy like this - I agree.
You can hem and haw all you like, but I doubt it's going to "minimize" scams and rip-off's.
People are just dumb sometimes.
There is already stickies and announcements in the For Sale sections.
If people don't want to read them, you can't force them to.
Look at all the SSAutoCRAP threads...
No matter how nasty their customer service is, consumers are still willing to waste their money cause of the PRICE.
Throw a For Sale ad, put in an absurdly ridiculously low selling price, and you will get a sucker to bite.
It's like fishing in a barrel...
That's the equation on how to rip people off.
