Well sorry but I can't at this time go into details in public. Even if I could I wouldn't, since the situation will change. I'm sure you can guess what it boils down to though.

Yeah, people were people and got pissy. So the Mod Squad closed it.

I think it's more the vanishing acts threads pull.

Still no reason why F.U.C.K got closed.

The way that this entire ordeal makes me feel is like they are just trying to push me out of the door from this place.

What bugs me the most about this, and perhaps I'm not justified in feeling this way, is that no one has let us know why yet. I am not trying to **** anyone off by any means, but it is really making me feel like, to you moderators and administrators, we as average users (and even those of us who've been around for years) are just not important enough to give answers to.

I'd also like to know why the F.U.C.K. thread was closed down. Even Nader was posting in it so clearly he didn't oppose. I feel like, since I was so involved in the thread, I have a right to know. Hearing, "it isn't my place to tell you" over and over again just makes me feel like you view me as an expendable member of this site. Perhaps I am. I'd like to think that isn't the case, but perhaps that is exactly what I am.

Honetly i think any one of us regulars are most likely expendable like you said. They really don't give a **** about us. It comes down to the almighty dollar as the bottom line for all the websites IB owns. That is so sad and the is ecaxtly waht is wrong with alot ofbusinesses today. Once you take the consumer out of the equation your product goes to ****.

Someone else popped it back open...I don't know what you guys do for a job, but here at AT&T, if a firstline was to walk up behind me and see that title to that previously-mentioned thread, that's going to get me placed on Positive Discipline. It makes the Forum family un-friendly no matter what the contents of the thread happen to actually be...that said, it wasn't me that t-boned that thread, though I volunteered since no one wanted to change the title. Let's try closing this one again.

You should also not be surfing the internet at work. Work is for work.

If they were getting in trouble, there's no doubt in my mind it was from immature crap posting exemplified by some of the avatars you see in the Lounge with half-nekkid Japanese girls.

At one time, the RCMAC dept was like the Wild West...SBC had the technology but not the "wisdom", so there was no enforcement of even the bare bones policies in place for 'Net use. A couple of terminations and hacked databases later and the RCMAC became the most draconian of the SBC dept's.

What a big diff a change in management makes - no wonder they fire managers all the time in baseball....it's almost the Wild West again. They use the firewall to block certain sites, but anything else is fine if you follow the one Rule...NO ****. Ladies in skimpy bikinis IS considered the same thing as far as the policies go, which is fine by me. Work ain't the place for that. With the new departmental policies, they only want to make sure you're not streaming video or streaming radio stations or doing AIM, etc...resource heavy apps. On breaks, at lunch or waiting on a verify report from one of the MARCH switches on a TN...these are the times I'm checking the two sites I mod on...pretty sweet deal being on the HelpDesk for RCMAC is all I gotta say.

You should also not be surfing the internet at work. Work is for work.

My numbers are always in the top 20% of our dept, so I don't worry about whether the new AT&T is getting a good deal on me since we're all paid the same...work 100% when you're at work means that old cell phone has to be turned off when you're at work...you're doing that, right? That old glass house... ...I'm sorry your place of work puts such a stranglehold on you, the new AT&T has come to realize that a happy employee is a more efficient, productive employee, so the rules were changed to allow 'Net time once again. The biggest thing that makes me sad is that the firewall won't allow eBay through...I've been burned on some good auctions because of it...oh, well, back to work...

Death to BAW, because I know I ain't bored here...there's always something to keep the blood pulsing in the brain here, the job is all about solving problems and putting out "fires" all day long...and I gotta fit reading my FTW Star-Telegram in that day somehow, too....

there, that is a perfectly acceptable and reasonable answer with no condicention or assholeness in anyway. i have expressed that veiw in the past myself that thread titles were rampant... but the easy fix is to simply change it and make a ruling. I didnt like some of the BAW threads either but I dont think thast is the whole story.

Speaking of sigs, I'd have to check with the other mods, but I believe that burnoutking needs to remove the links promoting the other forum as well.
