maybe split 2nd gen section

just thinking that the 2nd gen section should be divided into turbo an non turbo sections, or sub sections. this way users could get info specific to their car a little easier. mabey the na section would detail better ways to boost performance without boost and vice versa, as the two models are very different, with the exception of the chassis. it'd be nice to see more sttrickly N/a build ups. just my .02 (GD)

man... i don't even own an FC or really visit that section very often, but that sounds like a pretty good idea.

Then, further sub-divide it into Noob and Non-Noob.

Actually, that is probably a better idea.

theres actually a way to implement that too. allow people to grade the worthiness of each others posts. +1 or -1... 15 pts to lvl 1, 20 to lvl 2 and so forth. post count doesnt really help, theres a few people around here with lots of them and still dont know what theyre talking about...

idk, so many issues the 2nd gen's commonly have are shared between TII and NA I think it's better the way it is now.

No, I came here to bring up this same issue. If nothing else, then please split up the 2nd Gen For Sale section to be NA or Turbo to simplify everything.

And there are also a lot of problems each style doesn't share, so I +1 for splitting the 2nd gen section up also.

would a FC, general area and specific NA/Turbo issues in thier own seperate places?

I mean someone with NA or Turbo might want to know about swaybars or interior stuff, but something like customizing the 5th ans 6th ports would go in the na specific area...

otherwise chassis and common issues would be tough to locate...

Thats my .02 anyway

I'd rather see all the Sticky's in their own 2nd gen. sub forum called "Reference/FAQ"

I also like the idea of having a sub-forum for TurboII where issues related to the turbo induction can be brought up.

noob's should be automatically taken to a section called "noob FAQ's" for the first 6 months when they log on... which contains links to the generation faq's... once to the generation FAQs they can navigate to where ever they want to on the forum...

call it probation

I'd vote keeping them together, there's alot more than just engine specific problems. If you really want to look at N/A or Turbo specific items, use the search tool.

I argued and debated this about a year and a half ago! tried to get em to split it up but everyone didnt want it to happen!

But i think there should be two diff sections becuase more people own NA 7's than t2's, plus theres alot more NA's around than t2's. And they are two completely different cars!

Hell we could have our own 1/4 mile times and everything. Not only are na cars fun to mod they can be fast with some work just as t2's can be! People are just way to quick to diss a NA whatch i bet someones going to come up in here and start saying na's are not worth modding ec,ec.

Back when I had an FC, I had a lot of difficulty isolating stuff that was Turbo II versus NA threads. That drove me nuts.

But it isn't my call to split the 2nd gen forum. That and I don't have a 2nd gen anymore.

Well, maybe you can help make sure it gets addressed to the right admins of that section? Icemark, Aaron Cake, perhaps?

I know it would be a lot of work, but it would certainly be helpful for the FC guys, which seem to make up a rather large percentage of the rx community.

How about a "Post your noob thread here" section? We need one for each gen.

the second gen section is outta control... there are some real knowledgeable people that intentionally stay outta there.

i think there was even a thread in the lounge that was poking fun at the second gen section because it's the same 5 questions OVER AND OVER...

the problem with splitting it up is that half of the na folks are trying to do the turbo swap... so what do you do with them?

If anything, split the section into technical info and bling pictures/build-up blogs
