Lower Inbox Limit????

Are you a DoO user?
The standard inbox size for users has been 500 messages for quite a long time now. In fact I remember well over a year or maybe closer to 2years ago when Ryan posted an announcement on the forum for like 2 months ahead of time warning users to clean up their inboxes or else they might loose access to the messages.

After looking the the issue I think I know what the problem/answer is.
First of all there are multiple usergroups. In particular we will be discussing the "Registered and DoO" usergroups. Most users are part of the "Registered" usergroup. Less than 200 users have DoO access. As previously noted normal users inboxes were changed a couple of years ago to have only 500 messages allowed.
In your guys cases, if you have DoO access, and that usergroup is set as your primary usergroup you still have 1000 messages. This was an oversight and not an intended setting. When the change occured for "Registered" users it should have been applied to "DoO" users as well.
Due to a upcoming change in the usergroups to handle new users more effectively we have started moving you into the registered usergroups with the DoO as a piggybacked usergroup. A change that you guys would have never noticed, were it not for the difference in inbox sizes specificed by the different usergroups.
The result of this change is that your primary settings become that of a registered user and not of a DoO user (even though you will retain DoO access). As I mentioned you guys shouldn't have ever noticed any changes, however because the DoO group had been subject to the loophole of being allowed 1000 messages (by accident) you guys were alerted to the change because of the inbox size change.
This whole issue could have been avoided if someone from the DoO group mentioned they still had a 1000 message cap or if we would have caught it when moving the registered users to the new inbox size. FWIW - It's not something we would have noticed unless we specifically went looking to change it originally. I can assure all of you this was not an attempt to yank your PM settings, but just something that was finally got caught and fixed.
If you are having problems getting your messages let me know and I will work with you to download them. You do not have to delete them, you can download them as a Text, CSV or XML file. If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, please let me know and I will help you download your messages for archiving on your hard drive.
If you currently have over 500 messages I strongly encourage you to begin the archive process. Once all of the DoO user migration to the new usergroup is complete no users will have the 1000 message capacity.
