Just an idea for the Canadian Section
Just an idea for the Canadian Section
would be possible to add sub-forums to the canadian section, like one for each of the provinces? that way it would be much easier to organize meets, and events without having to search through all of threads that have been updated just to find one that might be local to you!
It would also be much easier to find people from your area for more localized help. I think this would be a great feature and people would find it very useful.

enough threads? possibly not but i still see the advantage of adding sub-forums regardless. because personally for me and others i know of, when i look in the canadian section or post it usually goes unnoticed because of the number of new threads started by other users in larger metropolitan areas, like vancouver, calgary, toronto, and montreal. so most of the guys from saskatchewan or rural areas just end up putting all of their posts in the generation specific categorys.
i would check and post more often if i knew others more local to me were posting and checking as well in the same section. Its kinda like how you have the states divided up in groups as well. we only have 10 provinces and you need not worry about the territories as they could just post in the province nearest to them, so i dont think that it would clutter up the forum at all.

Well, considering alot of the Candian members have their location listed as simply "Canada" I'd say that -for the most part- people can distinguish or simply aren't concerned.
I think its a decent idea but I really don't have a problem with figuring it out...its usually pretty simple to understand whats where, etc. If there's a quesiton that needs to be answered region specific (such as, help pull engine in Markham, where to buy premix in XXXX) its usually very self explanitory.
Tech questions usually don't have to be answered by anyone near you, unless you're looking for help in which case you're oging to be asking for help with a location mentioned.

If there could be a Sticky of Places IN Canada where you could get Rotary Services,Parts Etc..Something like the One that has the 10% off For the members, that would be good. One thing I have Noticed is that Some of the Guys put their Location, for Example,as "outside your Kitchen Window"..and If you want to Pull an Engine,etc..you should State it in the Thread Title,as Classic said..Not an Imaginary Place!..(I never saw anyone outside my Window,so I didn't show up!).I recently read the Plea for an engine pull in the CDN section..alot of guys showed up for that.To me,That seemed to do the trick...how about the Province Tags in the For Sale Section though?..if the US is doing it,then Canada should be able to mark the For Sale thread.

That's a lot of subforums...Does the forum really need more subforums? The list is already rather large. The majority of Canadian users are from either Ontario or BC, so at most we would only need two subforums.
What about me?
I very much agree about posting a stickied thread regarding all the available Rotary shops there Is. This Is a recurring matter that should be addressed.
The Idea to have several or a few sub-provincial forums would be redundant, IMO. I think the less populated provinces can still be able to post a thread In the Canadian Forum and still receive ample amount of views.
Our forum doesn't move as fast as say the technical forums. Based on my observation I can say that a thread (unresponded, so It doesn't get ")bumped" will remain for about a week, even more, on the face page.
Don't you think thats plenty of time to allow and convey the message for a given thread?
