FAQ, ARCHIVES, STICKY>>>MY CAR HATES ME, READ ON!!
For the record, purchased 1990 FC3C , n/a, on 5-7-2005, for $2250, sight unseen, on e-BAY, for my son's 16th B-day. Drove 60 miles to get it, 60 miles home. Clean, carfax buy-back in place, happy as a clam. So was my son, you're the best father, THANKS.
Changed filters and fluids, for the purpose that "I" would have record of current maintenance. 143,620 miles on odometer. Visually, everything works, lights, vert top, power windows, etc. PERFECT
4 months later>>AFM, no good. Replaced. TPS , no good. Replaced. Water pump, shot. Replaced. Power window switches, shot. Replaced. Lower radiator hose, leaking. Replaced. 5th & 6th ports, not working. Fixed. O-2 sensor, coolant temp sensor, coolant level sensor, replaced. Hey Dog, wake up, she's 15 years old. PARTS HAPPEN.
MY POINT IS SIMPLY THIS: I have done all the work, myself, on this rotary masterpiece. Never even knew about rotaries before I bought. Do now. Purchased serviced manual day after "Daphne" came home, and located this site.
I have bitched at members here for their "lack of quick response" to MY needs, and got no response after.
I have posted how desperate I am for assistance, cause " I " am now part of this society, and got little response. I said to myself how these people must be a bunch of pompous asses who aren't willing to help without proper brown-nosing.
And now, finally, after reading, and reading, and re-reading, and looking at some of the most recent posts, I understand what I have been missing.
I'm 5 months old here, and I'm even tired of listening to all the sob stories. When you feel the true need to start a thread, be INFORMATIVE, SINCERE, AND DO WHAT IS SUGGESTED, for the simple fact that these people are taking the time out of their schedules, to assist in the repair of OUR masterpieces. They are not paid money: for their payment is the satisfaction of knowing we appreciate their knowledge and wisdom, and that they could help out.
I look back now, at my attitude, and my lack of respect of their knowledge, and I wonder why I'm still allowed here. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, don't post that your engine was 5 quarts low on oil, and now what to do.
This might not be the correct location for this thread, but I am hoping that it gets read by as many people as possible, so that the " WIZARDS ", which is what you generous people should be referred to as, don't have to regret ever helping the morons like myself.
PLEASE READ ARCHIVES, FAQ, AND PAST THREADS FIRST---THEN POST. SORRY FOR THE LONG THREAD, BUT THE DOG DOES APPRECIATE YOUR HELP, AND SO DOES MY SON, AND HIS 16TH B-DAY PRESENT, "DAPHNE. WITHOUT ALL YOUR GUIDANCE, SHE MIGHT HAVE EXCHANGED HER TIRES FOR CEMENT SHOES.
PEACE THE DOG
