DoO visible to all

Mods, I believe it would help the traffic in the DoO if it was visible to every member whether they have access or not.

This is why the Politics section was so frequented....everyone could see it

We've discussed the future of the DoO section and we really aren't interested in "growing" DoO traffic.

I think if we had our choice we'd kill it altogether.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Dude, you're "killing my joy" one section at a time.

I know you get tired of the BS that comes out of there.....but you know why?? Because you've allowed the MODS to be dragged back in there.

The original ideas was for us to go in there and Bash the hell of of each other....no holds barred and now crying to the mods.

Mar3 is in there editing threads for "content" off topic etc. Remember, you enter into the DoO and it is like a cage match....two men entire, one man leaves......how is editing for content or personal attacks like the cage match?

Maybe you don't agree with the cage match.......

But let me say, it is a good place to let off steam...or build it up.

The only criticism I have about it....is unfairness from Mods. That part irks me to no end 'cause the member is defenseless against such an attack...any retaliation gets you a week in Band camp

The politics section was fairly active. Let DoO be open for all. It's not we make come in there. And if you kill off the DoO, you'll end up hurting the lounge as a whole. People are gonna debate over the world problems no matter what you do. Just open it up. If some one don't like it, they don't have to click on that link.

Let me clarify, I never said we were killing off the DoO, I merely said if we had our choice that's what we would do.

As a general rule we don't allow Politics or Religion topics to be discussed on the forums. The subject matter frequently results in angry debates and name calling and it's just not worth the hassle. At our sister-site rx8club.com the topics aren't allowed at all.

However, as a benefit to our long-term members here we created the DoO to allow these topics to be discuss "behind closed doors" so to speak. While I would hardly say I'm proud of the sophomoric drudge posted in the lounge I would for the most part be ashamed for new or prospective members to see the type of posts made in the DoO.

Sorry guys, it's a private party.

On a related note, we are looking into a method to make the DoO more accessible to join, however we will still be checking users to make sure they aren't n00bs or complete imbeciles (despite their right or leftist leanings).

The DoO was not envisioned as a cage match board. It was how Ryan got rid of all of us who were George Bush bashing every day in the Lounge over the possible imminent illegal invasion of Iraq. I've always felt that everyone should be in there, but that simply cursing people shouldn't be allowed...yzf-r1 being banned over and over, for instance, I felt was wrong.

Personally, after seeing Lounge posts, I really think the DoO needs to stay the way it is...if someone wants to be an immature idiot where cursing is the debate defense, then have at it in the Lounge where it's the norm, sez I.

On top of that, I myself have been "victimized" by a mod in the DoO also on one of my polls in past, so maybe my "transgressions" are simply the abused child grown up, now abusing the children....? Actually, everyone's hacked that a mod is actually there on a daily basis now, it's obvious.

DrKillJoy is right, the DoO is not nor meant to be the centerpiece of this website, it's a dark little secret for the crazies with an argumentive bent who happen to also love the rotary engine.

Politics section was a temporary section only put in place to facilitate conversations until the election.

A couple of weeks before the election it was announced by sticky the section would be removed after the elections.

The section was removed nearly 2 weeks ago.

MattG - It's fixed.

There was a technical snafu a few weeks ago that probably caused your issue.
